Job Description
If you like getting hands-on and pushing products to their limits, you will want to join our firmware test team as a Firmware Test Intern. You will work in a world-class lab within a product development group testing new industrial automation products to ensure quality customer outcomes. Learn from experienced engineers in a deep, technical environment in which the theory you learn in school meets real-world applications.
You will report to the Firmware and Software Test Manager, and be on-site/in-person, full-time in Milwaukee, WI.

Your Responsibilities:
- Design and development of scripts for automating test procedures
- Document test procedures
- Execute test procedures for verification of product functionality (manual/automated)
- Assistance with lab audit/improvement activities
- Resolve and document exceptions and questions.
- Create test reports
- Help with build and commissioning of test firmware and hardware platforms
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Pursuing bachelors or masters degree in electrical or computer engineering, or similar degree from an accredited college or university
- Must be enrolled for at least one more semester of school after the internship concludes (graduation date of December 2027 or later)
- Local or attending school in the greater Milwaukee area (within 50 miles from the Headquarter or Mequon location)
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
- Preference given to students met on campus, at a national recruiting event, through a Rockwell Automation-hosted event or a targeted recruiting campaign.
- Basic programming (C++, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript)
- Basic knowledge of circuit theory and operation, including microprocessors, digital logic devices, analog and/or DC-power conversion, programmable devices (CPLDs, FPGAs)
- Experience with Power Electronics or motors
- Experience with design capture tools
- Be able to work with schematic drawings
- Familiarity with tools such as CAD, Creoparametic, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), 3D Modeling, SAP, Matlab
- Experience with industrial automation environments including PLC or drives programming
- Experience using Agile methodology
