WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
Join nVent, a global leader in electrical connection and protection solutions with $2.5 billion in annual revenue and more than 9,500 employees worldwide, as a Machine Maintenance Technician at our Centralia, Illinois manufacturing facility. In this overnight role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. You will play a critical role in minimizing downtime, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and helping the plant meet production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Location: Centralia, IL
Shift: 3rd Shift / Overnight (10:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
Pay Range: $27.50 - $29.00 per hour
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems on production and facility equipment.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Install, move, maintain, and repair a variety of manufacturing machinery and building systems.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Fabricate, modify, and repair machine components, guards, stands, and other equipment using machine shop tools and welding equipment.
- Inspect equipment, identify potential failures, and recommend corrective actions to improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment concerns, repairs, and improvement opportunities.
- Support plant safety initiatives by following all safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
YOU HAVE:
Education Requirement
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical Trade School certification in Maintenance, Industrial Technology, Machine Repair, or a related field preferred.
Years of Experience
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred within a manufacturing environment.
Skills
- Electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook and maintenance documentation systems.
Abilities to Meet the Physical and Environmental Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work around manufacturing equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to safely work at heights, around moving machinery, and in industrial environments.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, noise levels, and other manufacturing conditions while adhering to all safety requirements.

Pay Transparency
nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range:
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
