Schulich School of Music - Student Recruitment
Position Summary:
The Schulich School of Music is currently seeking enrolled Music undergraduate students of McGill University to join our team for Open House. You will play a pivotal role in creating a warm and informative atmosphere for prospective students and their families during McGill University's Open House events on October 24, 9am – 5pm. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of activities aimed at ensuring a positive and engaging experience for all attendees.
Main Responsibilities:
- Welcoming prospective students and their families to the Schulich School of Music.
- Providing directions and information about Open House activities (volunteer information will be provided).
- Sharing information about McGill University, the Schulich School of Music, and student life, as needed.
- Assisting with guest seating at information sessions, supporting presenters, and distributing materials.
- Assisting with event logistics and the preparation, setup, and takedown of materials.
- Maintaining volunteer break rooms and distributing lunches.
- Supporting the Welcome Desk, as needed.
- Assisting with campus tours, as needed.
- Guiding visitors between events and buildings.
- Serving as floaters to provide day-of event support.
- Providing coverage to allow ambassadors and staff to take lunch breaks.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to represent the University in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Ability to follow instructions and event procedures.
- Basic knowledge of McGill University, the Schulich School of Music, and student life (or willingness to learn).
- Ability to assist with event setup, logistics, and light physical tasks.
- Familiarity with the McGill campus and the Schulich School of Music.
- Bilingualism (English and French).

Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # 4 on a scale of 0-4.
