About the role
The Social Video Marketing Manager is responsible for managing content production on our owned channels, and partnering with creators to grow Study.com’s presence across social platforms. This person brings expertise in content strategy, with knowledge of social-native formats and best practices on each platform. This person knows how to work with and find great creators, provide excellent creative direction, and lead content creation to drive measurable growth for Study.com across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. At its core, this role is about finding authentic voices and helping them tell their stories well through our customer voices, creators using the platform, and our school and brand partners.
Internally, you'll work with a team of social media specialists across a portfolio of college- and career-focused channels on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. On the talent side, you'll negotiate both short-term and long-term agreements with creators and partners, and make sure we hit our production goals and targets.
This is a full-time contract position. You will be expected to work during Study.com's Pacific Time business hours Monday through Friday. Additionally, you will use your own computer and have reliable access to high-speed internet.
Key responsibilities
You'll own a set of college- and career-focused social channels end-to-end: finding the right talent, supporting them, and making sure every piece is platform-native and on-brand.
- Lead the team and own the system. Lead a team of social media specialists on scaled social video production, own the process from channel ideation and talent acquisition through publishing and measurement, and build systems that keep creators and internal teams aligned and expert in the Study.com brand.
- Champion AI. Build an AI assisted workflow for the team to conduct trend tracking and research at every stage, while keeping content credible, authentic and community-driven.
- Bring best practices and drive experimentation. Bring industry best practices, run experimentation roadmaps with the team, and share wins, losses and insights across channels.
- Source great talent. Create a sourcing approach to identify platform-native creators, customers, partners and UGC talent, and own outreach, negotiation and agreements to build a deep bench.
- Collaborate with and support creators. Work hands-on with talent on storytelling and channel fit, and equip them with the Study.com knowledge and branding they need, without writing their voice for them.
- Spot trends and opportunities. Know your niches, move fast on trends, and turn insights into the next round of ideas.
- Make every piece platform-native. Ensure content is tailored to the algorithms and user preferences and trends in each platform.
- Manage production. Keep talent, content, publishing and production bundles on schedule, on target, and within budget.
- Foster community. Build engaged communities on our channels and help creators grow theirs.
- Measure and report. Own a revenue goal for your channels, supported by social KPIs and business metrics like conversions and self-reported revenue, and share insights that shape what's next.
Required qualifications
- 5+ years in social media, creator partnerships or talent management, with at least 2 managing creators directly and negotiating partnerships
- Deep, current fluency in TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube (long-form and Shorts).
- Strong creative judgment on hooks, storytelling and edits, with the restraint to let creators keep their voice.
- A track record of sourcing, negotiating with and growing creators.
- Experience leading social media production and social media experts.
- Strong analytical skills. Comfort tying social performance to revenue and conversion, not just views.
- Experience with AI tools for research, trend tracking, content product and workflows.
Nice to have
- Experience building a UGC or customer-to-creator program.
- SEO and Search literacy. Including keyword research, metadata, and knowledge on how video shows up in search and AI-generated answers.
