This role ensures confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information by implementing security controls, monitoring threats, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Job Description:

We invite you to join the GIS team as an Informatica and Oracle DB Data Engineer. We are a tight-knit, supportive community passionate about delivering the best experience for our customers while remaining sensitive to their unique needs.

The Data Engineer acts as the technical developer for Oracle and Informatica solutions within a project or program. This role combines senior-level hands-on development with technical leadership, estimation, design decisions, and team mentoring.

Responsibilities:

Technical Data Engineer

• Own end-to-end design and delivery of PL/SQL and ETL components
• Define coding standards, performance benchmarks, and best practices
• Review and approve technical designs, code, and ETL workflows

Delivery & Stakeholder Interaction

• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and business stakeholders
• Provide technical estimates, risk assessment, and delivery plans
• Support releases, production deployments, and major incident resolution

Oracle Development (PL/SQL)

• Design, develop, and maintain complex Oracle PL/SQL components, including: (Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, Triggers, Views and Materialized Views)

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for high-volume transactional and analytical systems
• Implement efficient data processing logic using BULK COLLECT, FORALL, cursors, and collections
• Enforce coding standards, best practices, and documentation for PL/SQL development
• Work closely with data modelers and architects to ensure optimal schema and index design
• Provide support for production issues, bug fixes, and performance enhancements

Informatica (ETL) Development

• Hands-on development and maintenance of Informatica PowerCenter mappings, sessions, and workflows
• Design end-to-end ETL solutions for Data Warehousing and operational systems
  • Strong experience with Informatica transformations including: (Source Qualifier, Lookup (connected/unconnected), Joiner, Aggregator, Router, Expression, Filter, Update Strategy)
• Experience handling slowly changing dimensions (SCDs), incremental loads, and data validation checks
• Ability to analyze and resolve ETL job failures and data issues
• Monitor and enhance ETL performance using Informatica tuning techniques

Requirements

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• Certifications If Any : NA
• Experience Range : 7+ years

Foundational skills :

• Strong expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development
• Proven hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter
• Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts (facts, dimensions, star/snowflake schemas)
• Deep experience in SQL and ETL performance tuning
• Experience working with large datasets and high-volume batch processing
• Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills

Desired Skills:

• Conducts logical and physical database design
• Designs key and indexing schemes and designs partitioning
• Constructs and implements operational data store
• Analyze and Optimize query performance
• Ensures that data models are consistent with the ecosystem
• Adheres to data management standards and advises on best practices
• Participates in building and testing business continuity & disaster recovery procedures per requirements
• Has experience with relational database internals, including both query processing and query planning, or other data processing infrastructure
• Has knowledge of key data structures and algorithms
• Has knowledge of data modeling and understanding of different data structures and their benefits and limitations under particular use cases
• Has experience with dealing with data at scale
• Has experience adhering to strict audit standards
• Has experience with relational database management systems (e.g. Oracle)
• Has experience in different programming/scripting languages (e.g. python) and ETL tools (e.g. Informatica)
• Experience with Data Analysis and Science will be a plus, the ideal candidate should be able to understand the business driven off the data and how it fits into the Application platform

Job Description:
This job is responsible for developing and delivering data solutions to accomplish technology and business goals and initiatives. Key responsibilities include performing code design and delivery tasks associated with the integration, cleaning, transformation, and control of data in operational and analytical data systems. Job expectations may include managing teammates, working with stakeholders and Product and Software Engineering teams to aid with implementing data requirements, analyzing performance, and researching and troubleshooting data problems within system engineering domains.

Responsibilities:

• Works across development teams to contribute to the story refinement and delivery of data requirements through the delivery life cycle
• Leverages architecture components in solution development, codes solutions to integrate, clean, transform, and control data in operational and analytical data systems per acceptance criteria
• Builds processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, data quality controls, dependency, and workload management and defines and builds data pipelines and complex data sets to enable data-informed decision making, identifying and raising risks at all stages of the data engineering process
• Develops and executes test plans to produce quantitative results, contributes to existing test suites including integration, regression, and performance, analyzes test reports, identifies test issues and errors, and triages underlying causes
• Drives complex information technology projects to ensure on-time delivery and adheres to team delivery and release processes
• Identifies, defines, and documents data engineering requirements, communicating required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality
• Works with technology partners and a diverse set of stakeholders to identify and close gaps in data management standards adherence, negotiates paths forward, and helps identify and communicate solutions to complex data problems leveraging knowledge of information systems, techniques, and processes
