Description
About the role:
The warehouse supervisor will perform a variety of duties to ensure consistent warehouse and inventory service delivery as per assigned KPIs. This will include inbound logistics, receiving, inventory management, warehouse controls, order fulfillment, and outbound dispatches. The role will work closely with the operations, sales/retail teams, and external logistics/3PL providers to ensure accurate and timely movement of inventory.
What you would be expected to do:
- Receive inward cargo in accordance with approved Sun King SOPs, verifying SKU, quantity, and condition and helping shipping/delivery documentation.
- Record and escalate discrepancies, damages, or shortages to relevant stakeholders, and coordinate with logistics providers to resolve inbound exceptions.
- Scan serial numbers for metered/serialized products and upload them to the relevant database.
- Ensure received quantities are accurately reflected in warehouse and ERP/CRM records.
- Initiate warehouse orders and oversee picking, packing, and fulfillment with logistics providers/3PLs, including routing and scheduling.
- Monitor dispatch accuracy and resolve misroutes, delays, losses, and damages.
- Update dispatched quantities in the approved dispatch tracker and ERP/CRM, including scanned serials for applicable products moved to shop/field locations.
- Align dispatches and stock receipts with retail/field teams.
- Process daily invoicing for partnership and EBD [Easy Buy Direct] sales in the ERP system, where applicable.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring alignment between physical stock, warehouse records, and ERP/CRM.
- Conduct cycle counts per the approved inventory control schedule, and manage monthly/periodic stock takes and reconciliation.
- Investigate and escalate inventory discrepancies and unexplained variances.
- Manage inventory per FIFO standards and maintain serial-number traceability for applicable products.
- Monitor inventory condition, reporting damaged, obsolete, or slow-moving stock.
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of Ndola Warehouse, reporting to the Warehouse Manager
- Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and 5S standards, including accurate floor plans, bin locations, and signage.
- Ensure compliance with Sun King OHS and warehouse safety requirements.
- Monitor warehouse access and escalate unauthorized access or security concerns.
- Report inventory losses, damages, accidents, and other warehouse incidents promptly.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and segregation of products per approved procedures.
- Oversee daily warehouse activities with 3PL warehouse and logistics providers where operations are outsourced, following up on inbound and outbound service levels.
- Escalate delays, discrepancies, losses, damages, and service failures to the manager, operations.
- Partner with the Associate Manager, Operations, on inventory, fulfillment, and logistics priorities.
- Help with audits, physical verification exercises, and operational improvement initiatives.
You might be a strong candidate if you:
- Has a degree qualification preferably in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehouse Management, Distribution or a related field from a Premier institution
- Has 3+ years' experience in warehousing and inventory management.
- Has practical experience working with distributors, 3PLs and sales teams to help with smooth distribution operations.
- Is knowledgeable about import/export, transport routes, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution networks.
- Has knowledge and working experience with ERP and/or WMS systems.
- Is comfortable working with large volumes of data in Excel/Google Sheets.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail, particularly in inventory, serial numbers, and document controls.
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills; English is a must.
- Is able to work with minimal supervision.
- Has strong teamwork skills and can work effectively with the Operations, sales teams and external logistics partners.
