On-Site Service Technician

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape

Position Summary

An established technical services company is seeking an On-Site Service Technician to provide maintenance, installation, repair, and technical support services at a client's site in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, maintaining high service standards, and assisting with preventative and corrective maintenance activities.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Electrical Certificate or Diploma advantageous
• 1-3 years' experience in an electrical or maintenance environment
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Basic fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver's licence
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on site equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify potential faults.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
• Repair and replace defective components where required.
• Use power tools and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with installations, upgrades, and commissioning of equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed according to company and client safety standards.
• Complete maintenance reports, service records, and job cards accurately.
• Maintain housekeeping standards within the work area.
• Liaise with clients and site personnel professionally.
• Respond to breakdowns and urgent maintenance requirements.
• Monitor equipment performance and report recurring issues.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company assets in good working order.
• Assist senior technicians and management with technical projects and site requirements.
