Description
Overview
You don't need legal experience to build a career as a Secretary at Walker Morris. We're looking for someone who's organised, confident and great at keeping things running smoothly to join our Planning team.
You'll support our lawyers with everything from managing diaries and meetings to preparing documents, maintaining files and helping with client administration. It's a varied role where you'll quickly build your knowledge and develop new skills.
If you've built strong administrative skills and you're ready for more responsibility, we'd like to hear from you.
This is predominantly an office-based role, and you'll usually work from our Leeds office four to five days a week, with occasional home working where the role allows.
As the Secretary, you will:
- Manage diaries, meetings, appointments and travel arrangements.
- Help the team stay organised by managing schedules and anticipating what they need.
- Prepare and format correspondence, documents, bills and other materials.
- Manage client and matter files, keeping information accurate and up to date.
- Help with new client onboarding and administrative compliance requirements.
- Handle telephone and email enquiries professionally.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to lawyers across the team.
- Work with colleagues across the firm when additional support is needed.
We are looking for:
- Has experience in a busy office or professional services environment.
- Has strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Can manage several priorities and meet deadlines.
- Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right.
- Communicates confidently and professionally with different people.
- Is comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Uses their initiative and is keen to learn.
- Understands the importance of handling sensitive information confidentially.
Some of our benefits include:
- Salary reflective of experience.
- Earn up to 10% of your salary with our annual bonus scheme.
- Minimum of 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays per year increasing to 31 days with length of service, with the opportunity to buy/sell up to 5 days holiday per year.
- Auto enrolled into the workplace pension scheme, and we’ll contribute a minimum of 6% of your salary.
- 4x your annual salary in the event of a death in service.
- Hybrid and flexible working for most roles with a minimum of 40% of your time spent in the office.
