Description
Meet the team:
Release Engineering builds cost-efficient AI platforms for product teams and internal developers. We operate traditional ML and generative AI models at scale on GCP/GKE, automate model delivery, and manage usage across self-hosted and external providers. We partner with ML Engineering on model quality and training, and AI Engineering on application behavior. You will contribute with guidance from experienced engineers.
Where you come in:
- You will help operate models on GKE, including vLLM serving; track cost per request and token at scale.
- You will maintain AI router configurations using tools such as LiteLLM for provider integration, routing, and fallbacks.
- You will support internal developer access, team budgets, usage limits, and cost reporting across providers such as Vertex AI and OpenAI.
- You will build CI/CD automation for model pipelines, registry promotion, testing, deployment, and rollback.
- You will maintain infrastructure as code and GitOps configurations for repeatable cloud and Kubernetes changes.
- You will track per-model tokens, cache hits, and resource usage; help tune caching, batching, and autoscaling to reduce cost within quality and reliability targets.
- You will troubleshoot serving and pipeline issues with teammates; maintain tests and runbooks.
What makes you successful:
- You have python, Git, and automated testing skills demonstrated through projects, internships, or professional work.
- You have foundational knowledge of Linux, containers, Kubernetes, and GCP.
- You have understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and model-delivery workflows; exposure to Terraform, Pulumi, or equivalent tools is helpful.
- You have interest in AI usage accounting, cloud cost efficiency, and multi-provider APIs; LiteLLM or model-serving exposure is helpful.
- You have systematic troubleshooting, clear communication, and a willingness to learn.
