Description

Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a PMO – Supply Chain Project Lead to join our Project Management Team, where you'll support us in delivering all Supply Chain activities associated with licensed product transfers into Ontic.

This role will be primarily based at our Staverton site but covers all RoW facilities, with travel to licensors and suppliers when required.

Ontic is more than just a business, we're a community of innovators who pride ourselves on fostering a culture where talent thrives, ideas flourish, and careers are built. We're committed to excellence, driving us to continuously improve and adapt, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of our industry.

The Role:

As our PMO – Supply Chain Project Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring Supply Chain excellence across our licensed product transfer programmes. You'll be responsible for coordinating and delivering the Supply Chain activities required to successfully novate a licensor's supply chain into Ontic, ensuring that suppliers, purchase orders, inventory, material planning and associated Supply Chain processes are effectively transferred and embedded into the business.

Working collaboratively with the Project Management Office, Supply Chain teams, licensors, suppliers and key stakeholders, you'll develop and deliver robust Supply Chain transfer plans covering activities such as Supplier Onboarding, Purchase Order Transfers, Inventory Management and Supply Chain provisioning through SIOP.

You'll be responsible for understanding project demand requirements and translating these into effective material plans to support production line set-up, Product Verification builds and the customer order book. You'll create and lead discussions around material Line of Balance and Clear to Build status, working closely with our business-as-usual teams to ensure inventory transfers and material availability support both project milestones and ongoing production requirements.

Reporting to the PV Operations Manager and working closely with the Project Management Office, you'll attend regular project reviews with licensors, suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring Supply Chain project status, risks, actions and progress are communicated clearly at all levels of the organisation.

You'll support the efficient onboarding and novation of suppliers within project timelines, proactively identifying Supply Chain challenges and risks and ensuring appropriate actions are documented and progressed. Where supplier or internal technical issues arise, you'll support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities and ensure the appropriate technical resource is engaged early to help resolve supplier quality concerns.

You'll also maintain clear, concise and up-to-date project metrics to demonstrate progress through each stage of the Supply Chain transfer process, using complex data to produce meaningful reports and tools that support effective decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain professional who thrives in a fast-moving project environment, enjoys solving complex problems and can bring multiple stakeholders together to successfully transition critical aerospace products into Ontic.

You'll be at the forefront of delivering complex aerospace product transfer programmes that make a real impact. Working across licensing, acquisitions and product transfers, you'll provide Supply Chain leadership throughout the novation process, ensuring material, supplier and inventory readiness while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and working with Ontic and supplier teams to implement these effectively.

About you:

At Ontic, our culture is integral to making sure we enjoy our work and deliver for our customers. While we look for the right skillset, we're also looking for someone who will thrive within our recognition and empowerment culture.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to be a proactive and collaborative Supply Chain professional with proven experience of working with suppliers, ideally within aerospace, engineering, manufacturing or another complex operational environment.

You'll have strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet project deadlines in a fast-moving and changing environment. You'll understand demand and material requirements and be confident supporting Supply Chain planning activities associated with production line set-up, Product Verification builds and customer orders.

You'll have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be comfortable working with large and complex datasets, turning information into clear reports, metrics and tools that help drive effective decision-making.

Experience using Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems will be essential.

You'll be a confident communicator who can produce clear, concise and accurate written and verbal communications and present Supply Chain project status to stakeholders at all levels. You'll work effectively across departments including Project Management, Supply Chain, Planning, Operations, Engineering and Customer Support, as well as building strong relationships with licensors, suppliers, subcontractors and customers.

A degree or equivalent qualification in a technical or related subject would be beneficial, although significant relevant industry experience supported by strong educational standards will also be considered.

You'll be comfortable making recommendations where there may be more than one solution to a problem, using data and sound judgement to determine the best way forward and clearly explaining the rationale behind your recommendation to the appropriate audience.

Flexibility is important within this role. You'll need to be willing to occasionally work outside core hours in response to project or business priorities and be able to travel globally when required.
