Your Role as Personal Care Worker (Palliative Care)
You’ll deliver this role by:
Deliver holistic care and support to guests and families in line with care plans and under Clinical team supervision
Engage guests in planned activities as directed by practitioners
Support guests with all daily living needs
Respond promptly to any changes in a guest’s condition and escalate to clinical staff as needed.

What We’re Looking For
Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (or equivalent)
Warm, empathetic approach that builds trust with guests and families
Strong commitment to person‑centred, holistic care
Proven teamwork and collaboration skills
Sharp observational skills to identify and respond to changes in guest condition
Experience supporting families in a health setting and commitment to family‑centred care
Essential Requirements
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work
NDIS Worker Clearance - (Yellow Card)
Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate

The stand-alone purpose-built facility offers 8 guests in care beds, 5 family accommodation suites and a unique ‘end of life’ suite.
Guided by the philosophy of offering a “warm embrace,” the multidisciplinary team provides 24/7 scheduled and emergency specialist care, short break stays, pain and symptom management, end‑of‑life care, and psychosocial support for the whole family. With strong connections to paediatric palliative care services locally, nationally, and internationally, Hummingbird House delivers flexible, child‑ and family‑centred care as an integrated community‑based service.
