Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Imaging Tech, you will perform a variety of advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures across diverse imaging modalities, under the general direction of departmental leadership.Every day, you will expertly operate complex imaging equipment, precisely execute imaging protocols, and meticulously monitor patients to ensure their safety and comfort throughout diagnostic and interventional procedures.To be successful in this role, you will skillfully produce high-quality diagnostic images, collaborate effectively with the medical team, and steadfastly advocate for patient safety and optimal outcomes within the imaging environment.
- Job Specific Functions
- Ensures a safe environment related to equipment, bed/cart rails, patient's mental status.
- Provides education that includes explanation and rationale for all test, equipment and procedures explaining to patient prior to performance.
- Allows control and choices over situations and environment as appropriate to condition and situation.
- Allows for cultural and religious beliefs in providing services.
- Observes for signs of abuse/neglect.
Job Requirements
Minimum
- Must be experienced in operating equipment and evaluating images obtained, including anatomy and pathology so that additional images in varying positions may be obtained if necessary for correct diagnosis and
- One or more years of experience and
- Successful completion of a fully accredited (full accreditation means the training program is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a similar, nationally recognized, accrediting agency), training program in the pertinent modality for which the employee was hired and
- One or more years of experience in the specific modality for which the candidate is being considered.
- Medical Radiographer: NV
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Must have one of the following: registry or certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist RG ARRT, CT ARRT, CT CATTECH, CT MMRT, CT MRI TECH, CT XRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board CT NMT or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers RG ARDMS.
- Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
