Your role:
Join Northrop Grumman Australia and help deliver aviation safety outcomes that support critical Defence capabilities. As an Aviation Safety Specialist, you'll work within our Mission Assurance team to support the Aviation Safety Management System (AvSMS), ensuring compliance, managing risk, and driving continuous improvement across complex aviation programs.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the AvSMS.
Conducting aviation safety audits, investigations, and assurance activities.
Monitoring regulatory compliance across Defence and aviation programs.
Analysing safety data, identifying risks, and reporting on safety performance.
Facilitating safety meetings, training, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Promoting a strong safety culture that supports mission success.
About you:
You are a collaborative aviation safety professional with a passion for continuous improvement, compliance, and operational excellence. You thrive in complex environments, build strong stakeholder relationships, and are confident providing advice that supports safe and effective outcomes.
You'll bring:
Experience in an aviation safety role within a regulated aviation environment.
Knowledge of CASA, DASR, EASA, EMAR, or similar aviation regulatory frameworks.
Experience conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience within Defence, aerospace, or contract support environments.
Qualifications in aviation maintenance, engineering, safety management, auditing, or incident investigation (highly regarded).
The ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance.
