The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization, The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.
Position Summary: The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire:
- 2- year College Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a major in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program is preferred.
- Current Ohio license or interim permit required.
- 2 years of experience in rehabilitation or acute care setting is preferred.
On-going: Maintains current Ohio RN license. Meets mandatory educational and health requirements. Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions.
Additional Information:
Float to both units in our Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital.
The Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit on the third floor of Dodd Hospital has 31 beds and provides comprehensive rehab care for individuals 16+ with brain injury, spinal cord injury, and oncology diagnoses.
The Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit on the 4th floor has 29 beds. Their patient population is Stroke and General Rehabilitation, including things like burns, transplants, cardiac issues including LVAD’s, amputations and orthopedics. Patients are 16 and older.
