Marsh

Description:

Excited by the pace of AI and the chance to build something meaningful? Join our growing Innovation team in Dublin and help create next-generation applications using the latest tools, technologies, and ideas. AI is a huge part of what we do — but we’re an innovation team first, applying whatever emerging technology best solves the problem, from LLMs to data, integration, and automation. You’ll work alongside experienced and curious colleagues in a collaborative environment that encourages exploration, learning, and shared problem-solving. With strong support from senior leaders and visibility across the business, the team is well placed to develop, test, and scale new solutions. Your work will be visible, valued, and connected to key priorities from day one.
THE ROLE & YOUR MISSION
This is an opportunity to design, build, test, and scale solutions that make a real difference. As a senior member of the team, you’ll lead the technical delivery of initiatives end to end and act as a go-to expert, turning ambiguous problems into practical applications that address real business and client needs — with AI and LLMs the biggest part of the toolkit, alongside data, integration, and automation. Alongside hands-on engineering, you’ll help shape our innovation hub by contributing to hackathons, engaging with the broader tech community, and supporting a culture centered on experimentation, learning, collaboration, and results.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead the technical delivery of AI and innovation initiatives end to end, from early concept and prototyping through to production-ready solutions
  • Architect solutions and make sound design decisions, choosing the right technology for each problem — AI/LLMs foremost, alongside data, integration, and automation
  • Build practical applications that address real business problems and deliver measurable value
  • Act as a key liaison between engineering and product, R&D, and business stakeholders — running discovery and helping shape requirements
  • Work closely with colleagues across our Dublin and international Innovation teams, while taking initiative and driving your own ideas
  • Work in an Agile environment where you can experiment, learn quickly, and see the impact of your work
  • Stay hands-on with the latest AI tools, models, and techniques — rapidly assessing and adopting emerging tools while judging what is durable versus commoditising
  • Help shape and strengthen how we build, including best practices in prompt engineering, experimentation, evaluation, and solution design
  • Create reusable approaches, tools, and patterns that help the wider team work more effectively and consistently
  • Mentor Grade C and D engineers through code reviews and pairing, support technical excellence, and help grow capability across a growing team
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
This is a chance to play a meaningful role in a senior position, with the opportunity to shape projects and contribute to how solutions are built. You’ll work on important challenges, explore the latest technologies, and help develop best practices in a team that is growing quickly and working with purpose. With strong leadership support, visibility across the business, and access to the resources of a global organization, you’ll have the platform to make a genuine impact while continuing to grow your career. And you’ll do it from Dublin, one of Europe’s most dynamic and well-connected tech hubs.

YOUR EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
  • Strong software engineering experience, with the depth and judgment expected in a senior-level role
  • Experience building and delivering production-grade applications
  • Deep hands-on experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript development, including frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
  • Solid backend experience with Node.js, NestJS, or similar technologies
  • Experience using Python to build AI-powered workflows, integrations, or applications
  • Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and integrating AI into real-world products and business processes
  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs, including prompt design, tool use, structured outputs, and application orchestration
  • Experience with RAG, retrieval pipelines, embeddings, and knowledge-grounded AI systems
  • Familiarity with modern agent patterns, multi-step workflows, and tool-connected AI systems
  • Good understanding of AWS, Kubernetes, and the infrastructure required to deploy and scale AI applications
  • Experience with monitoring and observability for production AI applications, with an understanding of how to track performance, reliability, and system health
  • Strong communication skills, a practical and thoughtful approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively across engineering and business teams
What makes you stand out:
  • Experience taking AI products from early experimentation through to production use
  • Familiarity with emerging standards and frameworks in the agent ecosystem, including Model Context Protocol (MCP)
  • Knowledge of vector databases, semantic search, and scalable retrieval architectures
  • Experience improving the quality, reliability, latency, and cost-efficiency of AI systems
  • Experience with AI evaluation frameworks, testing approaches, and guardrails for reliable and responsible AI systems
  • A track record of leading projects, mentoring others, and helping define engineering best practices
We know that candidates may not meet every listed requirement exactly. If you’re excited about the role and believe you could thrive in it, we encourage you to apply.
