POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Assistant Manager, Housekeeping is responsible for the efficient operation of all guest room floors, corridors, service areas, and related housekeeping functions. The role ensures that guest rooms and floor areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, safety, and luxury service in accordance with company policies, operating standards, and brand expectations. The Assistant Manager leads, coaches, and develops the housekeeping floor team while driving operational excellence, productivity, and guest satisfaction.

 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Management

• Oversees the day-to-day operation of housekeeping floor activities to ensure guest rooms, corridors, pantries, and service areas meet established standards.

• Ensures all allocated cleaning schedules, room assignments, and inspections are completed efficiently and accurately.

• Monitors occupancy levels and adjusts staffing resources accordingly to support operational demands.

• Conducts regular inspections of guest rooms, suites, corridors, service areas, and VIP accommodations to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved.

• Coordinates with Front Office, Guest Services, Engineering, Security, Laundry, and other departments to optimize room readiness and guest satisfaction.

• Ensures all guest rooms are available for sale in a timely manner while maintaining quality standards.

• Supervises room turnover and special projects including deep cleaning programs and preventive

maintenance initiatives.

 

Quality Assurance

• Implements and monitors quality assurance programs to ensure consistent housekeeping standards throughout the property.

• Ensures all housekeeping standards, procedures, and checklists are followed and regularly reviewed for effectiveness.

• Investigates guest complaints related to housekeeping and takes immediate corrective action.

• Conducts routine audits and room inspections to identify improvement opportunities and maintain five-star standards.

• Supports continuous improvement initiatives and service excellence programs

Leadership and Team Development

• Leads, motivates, and mentors Housekeeping Supervisors and Room Attendants.

• Assists in recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of housekeeping employees.

• Conducts coaching sessions, performance reviews, and development discussions with team members.

• Ensures adequate staffing levels and efficient deployment of manpower across all assigned floors.

• Promotes teamwork, engagement, accountability, and a positive working environment.

• Identifies succession planning opportunities and develops high-potential team members.

 

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensures compliance with all company policies, housekeeping procedures, and health and safety regulations.

• Promotes a safe working environment and actively participates in safety meetings and initiatives.

• Ensures housekeeping equipment, machinery, and operating supplies are maintained in safe and operational condition.

• Conducts workplace inspections and addresses potential hazards promptly.

• Ensures proper use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.

 

Guest Service Excellence

• Maintains a strong visible presence in guest areas and acts promptly on guest requests and service recovery opportunities.

• Ensures all housekeeping team members deliver professional, personalized, and courteous service.

• Supports VIP arrivals, special requests, and high-profile guest experiences.

• Acts as a role model and ambassador of the hotel's service culture and values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

•  4-5 years working experience in a related field

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent professional training

Skills / Competencies

• Fluent in both written and spoken English
• Excellent interpersonal/ presentation skills are preferred
