Position Overview

Caraluzzi's Markets is seeking a motivated and experienced Prepared Foods team leader to lead and manage culinary operations within our Prepared Foods department. Our kitchens produce restaurant-quality entrées, appetizers, side dishes, rotisserie items, an extensive soup bar, and a comprehensive holiday and party catering program. The Prepared Foods team leader will oversee daily department operations, lead and develop associates, ensure quality and consistency in food production, and provide an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead department associates by example and maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment.
• Train, teach, and motivate associates on proper recipe and food production methods.
• Forecast customer needs and plan daily production accordingly.
• Ensure food is prepared consistently according to recipes, quality standards, and department expectations.
• Merchandise prepared foods in an attractive and appealing manner.
• Interact regularly with customers and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain effective communication with associates and store management.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering and production needs.
• Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines are followed.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient department.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and overall department management as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of applicable culinary or prepared foods experience required.
• Previous management or supervisory experience required.
• Strong culinary skills with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of food preparation and production.
• Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in a multi-temperature environment, including refrigerated areas.
