Description
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Work schedule will be determined by the instructor and in consultation with the department coordinator and approved by the dean, not to exceed 980 hours/170 days.
- Physically able to provide a full range of body gestures and poses.
- Ability to hold poses for the sustained drawings ranging anywhere from 30 minutes to 90 minutes.
- Ability to provide acceptable documentation of authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to successfully work in and promote a multicultural work and education environment.
Being able and ready to work onsite at a Chaffey facility or location is an essential function of this job. Being able and ready to work in-person with Chaffey students, Chaffey employees, or other members of the Chaffey community/Chaffey partners/Chaffey contractors is an essential function of this job.
DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Posing with and/or without clothing for studio art classes, primarily figure drawing.
- Holding poses selected by the instructor
- Creating or choosing poses that reflect the content of a lesson (as explained by the instructor).
- Providing a full range of traditional life drawing poses including but not limited to the following: gestures, sustained poses, and anatomical studies.
- Demonstrating the flexibility and animation of the human form in short and sustained poses.
- Holding traditional, as well as more experimental or creative poses, as required by the instructor.
- Previous experience as an artist’s model or dance/yoga experience.
- Knowledge of how the model demonstrates anatomy, gesture, or content in a drawing.
- Awareness of classical and traditional poses.
- Acceptance of the responsibility to promote the welfare and best interests of students at all times.
- Understanding and acceptance of the mission, values, goals and objectives of Chaffey College.
- Ability to perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and goals of the institution, community and technical college system.
- Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in a community college environment.
