Patient Care Technician Unit Secretary - Special Care Nursery - Evenings

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Patient Care Technician Unit Secretary

• Location: Elmhurst, IL

• Part Time - 24 hours

• Hours: Evenings 3 pm - 11 pm including rotating weekends & rotating holidays

• Required Travel: Yes, floating within Family Birthing Center this includes Mother/Baby or Labor & Delivery to float as a Patient Care Technician Unit Secretary.

What you will do:

• Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for care, comfort and safety of patient. The Patient Care Tech/Unit Secretary position in the Special Care Nursery also performs tasks related to receiving, preparing and delivering infant feedings under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Registered Dietitian and according to established procedures.

What you will need:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required

• Certification: Current BLS CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association & Certificate from an accredited nursing assistant training course (CNA); or minimum six months previous patient care experience or equivalent; or completion of one nursing clinical rotation

• Attends patient care skills tasks related to preparing and delivering infant feedings

• Strong math skills for preparing and delivering infant feedings

• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions

• Proficient communication skills

• Attend in depth orientation regarding patient care skills tasks
