Job Description Summary
About This RoleGE Vernova's Gas Power Services business keeps some of the world's most critical energy infrastructure running. As a Sr Sourcing Manager - Commodity Management
on our Non-Globalized Commodities team, you'll own end-to-end sourcing strategy for Configured Systems — shaping how we work with suppliers to deliver better quality, faster lead times, and stronger margins across a complex, high-stakes supply chain.
This is a role for someone who sees opportunity in complexity. You'll sit at the intersection of strategy and execution, leading supplier relationships, driving cost performance, and connecting the dots across commercial, operations, and quality teams to move the business forward.
Job Description
What You'll Do
Define and execute sourcing strategies for Non-Globalized Configured Systems commodities, with accountability for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) performance targets across Gas Power Services sourcing.
Lead strategic supplier initiatives including lead time reduction, on-time delivery improvement, payment term optimization, supplier rationalization, sole source risk reduction, and LCC volume growth.
Drive turnaround time (TAT) and quote upload performance to support commercial wins in the Inquiry-to-Order (ITO) phase and margin expansion in the OTR phase.
Own sourcing compliance — including delegation of authority (DOA), price approvals, competitive bidding policy, supplier onboarding, and Quality Management System (QMS) adherence across the commodity portfolio.
Collaborate with Operations Management, Materials, and Flow Parts fulfilment teams to meet and exceed OTD, delinquency, supplier escape, and lead time targets through daily management and standard work practices.
Build and sustain supplier relationships through structured engagement — supplier conferences, should-cost modelling, vendor negotiations, and total landed cost management — to deliver year-over-year savings.
Lead lean transactional events and continuous improvement actions, executing supplier performance reviews (PSRs) and escalation management to drive measurable operational gains.
Who You Are
You're a commercially sharp sourcing professional with a track record of delivering results across complex, multi-stakeholder supply chains — someone who combines strategic thinking with the discipline to execute at pace.
Required
Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of proven experience in sourcing, procurement, or global supply chain management
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence outcomes without direct authority
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, with experience managing contracts and commercial terms
Solid analytical capability — comfortable working with data to support scenario analysis, cost modelling, and performance tracking
Preferred
Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, COPICS, or BAAN
Familiarity with lean methodologies, continuous improvement frameworks, or Six Sigma practices
Experience working in or with matrix organizations across international teams
