Class 0Job Title: Groundskeeper Part Time Permanent
30 hours per week
6 hour days 5am to 11:30am
Job Summary: A Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining and managing the outdoor areas of lawns, social spaces, work areas and walkways. They ensure the landscape is well-kept, safe, and aesthetically pleasing by performing regular maintenance tasks, such as mowing, trimming, planting, and cleaning.
Key Responsibilities:
Lawn Care & Landscaping:
Mow, trim, and edge lawns and grass areas.
Fertilize and apply pesticides or herbicides as needed.
Reseed lawns, aerate soil, and install new plants as necessary.
Shovel or pull weeds in small to large areas.
Maintenance & Repairs:
Inspect and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper functioning.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Cleaning & Waste Management:
Remove litter, fallen leaves, and debris from grounds.
Empty trash cans and dispose of waste properly.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of outdoor areas.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure safety of the grounds, preventing hazards and ensuring clear pathways.
Follow health and safety regulations related to equipment, chemicals, and landscaping practices.
Other Duties:
Assist with snow removal during the winter season.
Support event setups or outdoor functions.
Report any issues or damage related to the grounds to the appropriate personnel.
Desired Skills:
Ability to operate landscaping equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Be able to lift as heavy as 50 pounds occasionally.
Be able to work as early as 2 am winter weather dependent.
