RMIT Vietnam is seeking a contingent worker for the Associate Learning Designer. While the position is advertised by RMIT Vietnam, the successful candidate will be employed and managed by an external service provider, who will be responsible for the labour contract.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Learning Designer supports the Learning Design team to create engaging online and blended learning experiences in the Learning Management System (Canvas) as part of a new digital uplift project. The Associate Learning Designer will work closely with the Learning Designers, Senior Learning Designers and Multimedia Designers to co-design blended learning experiences that are Active, Authentic and Applied.
Reports directly to: Manager, Online Learning
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Partner with academic stakeholders to influence and guide best-practice course design and facilitation skills for blended and online learning.
- Champion and ensure that all content adheres to RMIT VN learning design, UX, accessibility, copyright, and style guide standards.
- Interpret and make sense of advanced academic content to design learning sequences and activities that support the achievement of learning outcomes
- Design and build learning experiences through an inclusive design lens, ensuring content is representative, equitable, and accessible to a diverse student cohort.
- Construct learning experiences that actively promote interaction, social presence, and community among students and between students and faculty.
- Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies within learning design workflows to enhance operational efficiency and develop innovative instructional assets.
- Ensure all digital content and sequences directly support student achievement of defined course outcomes.
- Use a range of authoring and multimedia tools to build out complex learning sequences within the Canvas LMS.
- Build and format LMS pages using HTML, including the setup of course shells, assignments, and structural elements according to the style guide.
- Apply rigorous standards to all digital content to ensure WCAG 2.0 AA compliance.
- Carry out other duties as required to support the University’s evolving needs.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in a field related to Education, Communication, Design, or Technology.
- Knowledge of pedagogical principles within higher education, specifically relating to blended, online, and inclusive learning design.
- Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholder behaviour to achieve high-quality educational outcomes.
- •Advanced English communication skills (written and spoken) with the ability to make sense of complex academic content and articulate design concepts clearly to non-experts.
- Familiarity with a range of learning management systems (ideally Canvas) and learning technologies. Basic to intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS is an advantage.
- A proactive attitude with a demonstrated ability to pick up new ideas, AI tools, and emerging technologies quickly.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with peers and academic stakeholders, including the capacity to give and receive constructive professional feedback.
- Ability to work independently, show initiative, and manage tasks effectively to meet project deadlines.
