Physician MTC Clinic

The mission of Student Health Services is to create the best possible experience for every patient in a Christ-centered environment. The MTC Clinic supports that mission by equipping missionaries through the restoration of physical health and well-being, preparing each missionary to enter the mission field whole, strengthened, and ready to serve.

What you’ll do in this position:

• Provide medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in both clinic and ambulatory settings.

• Provide answers to questions over the telephone.

• Participate in a call rotation to cover calls and conduct weekend rounds for missionaries.

• Document all findings, consultations, treatments, and diagnoses.

• Review documentation for accuracy.

• Communicate missionary care needs with community specialists and ecclesiastical leaders.

Education

• Attend related classes, continuing medical education (CME) workshops, and meetings.

• Expand medical knowledge by reading educational materials and current medical publications.

• Keep abreast of new developments in medicine.

Citizenship

• Promote a positive image of the department and the University.

• Support activities of the department and other University departments.

• Relate well with other University employees.

• Adhere to University standards and policies.

• Participate in missionary committees as assigned.

• Assist the Missionary Department with evaluating missionaries.

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.

• Completion of an accredited residency program.

• Current unrestricted physician license in the State of Utah, or ability to obtain one.

• DEA registration.

• Current BLS certification, or ability to obtain it.

• Board certified.

• Three to five years of clinical experience in an ambulatory or primary care setting.

Preferred

• Experience in student health, missionary medicine, travel medicine, or urgent care.

• Experience coordinating care with specialists and multidisciplinary teams.

• Leadership or supervisory experience.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate with professionalism, diplomacy, and balanced judgment.

• A thorough, attentive, humble, and safety-oriented approach to patient care.

Pay Grade: 57P

Typical Starting Pay: $165,500 - $215,000

The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
