The Harpeth Hotel in historic downtown Franklin is looking for a Lead Café Attendant to join our team in providing one-of-a-kind experiences for our guests! Our Team Lead will be essential for the workflow, morale, and daily tasks in McGavock’s, our on-site full service breakfast and lunch restaurant.
McGavock's Coffee & Provisions is a beloved neighborhood cafe serving more than just breakfast and lunch, we provide a warm and welcoming spot for people to gather. Our café attendants provide the warmth and care that makes McGavock's the best in the community, and they have fun doing it! We are looking for individuals who are passionate about delivering exemplary service and a one-of-a kind experiences for our guests.
AM shifts only, up to 7 days a week, with shifts from 6:30am-2pm or 8am-3:30pm. Full-time hours available, along with schedule flexibility to help with school hours, family needs, additional jobs, and more. From $19-23 an hour. Free daily shift meals and beverages. We offer medical, dental, vision benefits and additional coverages for full-time team members.
POSITION PROFILE
Responsible for monitoring the day-to-day operations of the café while placing a high emphasis on ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction and the achievement/maintenance of company standards. The Lead Barista is also responsible for managing the daily workflow of our team, motivating, and inspiring them –and new hires. This position will assist in inventory control and be responsible for daily quality control of products. They are charged with the duty of ensuring a safe and clean work environment, following all state and local regulations, and ensuring team member compliance.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES
- Make and serve drinks to guests following established guidelines, procedures, and policies regarding beverage and safety controls as prescribed by company standards.
- Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner; maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Ring guest checks; collect cash and process credits and room charges in the exact manner outlined by company policies and procedures.
- Oversee the delegation and completion of all side work duties. Create new processes and train the team when necessary.
- Communicate business needs with your manager --product needs—ensure pars are maintained, team needs are heard and met, operational / functional needs, and total property guest need.
- Oversee daily team member performance – Provide on the spot feedback and coaching to achieve desired results. Resolve conflicts or stave off potential conflicts with team members.
- Respond to guest needs, issues, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance and ensure future returns.
- Work with other departments when needed to make sure all guest contacts are handled in a professional, cordial and efficient manner maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction
- Supervise the maintenance/sanitation of the restaurant and equipment during the shift to protect the assets, comply with Tennessee Health Code, ABC and other local regulations.
- Be proactive in striking a good balance of team focused and business alignment.
- Accomplish tasks, department objectives, financial goals, whole hotel hospitality goals, and other projects as assigned within the boundaries and scope of your job.
- Train new team members on overall operational procedures, using the 5-day training manual provided
- Maintain and ensure product quality control and holds team members accountable
- Maintain a working-knowledge of all products/menu changes
- Conduct a pre-shift at the start of your shift based off daily notes provided by the manager
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
- Work with Management team to develop ideas to drive revenue including but not limited to: marketing promotions, specials, new products, etc..
- Complete inventory at the end of each month
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- High school education or equivalent education/experience.
- Three to Six months in a food and beverage services environment or establishment. Hotel experience preferred.
- Able to mix drinks correctly. Provide exceptional service to all guests.
- Able to multitask and handle all the equipment especially in a bar that uses modern technology. Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand and to balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverage.
- Able to read, speak, and understand English. Able to lead in a productive, diligent, and guiding manner. Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff, and guests.
