Senior Engineer - Data & AI Platform

As a Senior Engineer – Data & AI Platform, you’ll help design and build an AI-native data platform within Snowflake, enabling AI workloads and intelligent applications across the organisation.

Working at the intersection of data and AI engineering, you’ll build scalable data pipelines, AI-enriched datasets and reusable data products, while helping shape a modern, AI-ready data architecture and supporting the organisation to get greater value from AI.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines and AI applications using Snowflake-native AI capabilities.
• Enable in-database AI, LLM, vector and semantic workflows, reducing reliance on external processing.
• Design and optimise data models and structures that support both analytical and AI workloads.
• Contribute to the evolution of our AI-ready data architecture and enterprise data modelling approaches, including Data Vault and common data models.
• Prepare and structure governed, high-quality data for AI, machine learning and advanced analytics.
• Partner with AI engineers and technology teams to integrate Snowflake-hosted intelligence into applications and workflows.
• Implement AI observability, monitoring and alerting to support reliable AI and data solutions.
• Contribute to AI-enabled engineering practices and standards, using tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cortex Code.
• Work with technical and business stakeholders to translate complex concepts into practical solutions and help build broader data and AI capability across the organisation.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong experience with Snowflake, SQL, dbt and Python, ideally including Snowpark.
• Experience with Snowflake AI capabilities and building AI-enabled workflows within a data platform.
• Exposure to LLM, vector, embedding or semantic use cases.
• Experience designing scalable data models and architectures, with knowledge of approaches such as Data Vault, common data models or dimensional modelling.
• Understanding of machine learning data requirements, feature engineering and/or production AI/ML workflows.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and an interest in evolving AI-enabled engineering practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to translate business needs into practical data and AI solutions.
