Purpose: Responsible for all aspects of loan processing for commercial, agricultural, SBA and consumer loans. When necessary, will also assist other lending personnel in various duties to ensure the successful operation of the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews LOS system for input accuracy and data integrity.
- Monitor pipeline for loans in process as well as the maturing loan list.
- Reviews credit Loan Presentation and completes internal Processing Checklists to ensure compliance with regulations, internal policies, procedures, correct signing authority and how best to secure the collateral, if applicable.
- Complete all due diligence steps prior to preparing the required loan documentation following the acceptance of the new loan request. This would include but not be limited to reviewing all supporting documentation, obtain HMDA information, meet requirements for SBA/FSA guaranty if applicable, contacting Business Bankers or Universal Bankers regarding deficiencies and preparing required loan documents.
- Provide a quality control review of each other’s loan documents prior to being sent out to Business Banker or Universal Banker for wet or electronic signing.
- Prepares required documentation for extensions and renewals after proper due diligence has been done. Including but not limited to, following the Processing Checklist, confirming our collateral is in place and confirmation of entity / signers. Also may include contacting Business Bankers or Universal Bankers regarding any deficiencies, preparing and distributing required documentation.
- Prepares the electronic customer file and also provides any instructions to the booking team that will assist in loan set-up.
- Assists Business Bankers and Universal Bankers with questions regarding loan documentation and loan documentation status.
- Order Title Commitments, UCC filings, CRIS Search, Flood Certificate, payoff statements, DMV searches and any other collateral / entity-based information when applicable
- Completes required training associated with job function.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: 1-3 years of credit or lending experience preferred.
Skills:
- Must be able to work with a significant amount of detailed information in an accurate, timely and confidential manner.
- Self-starter
- Good computer skills (knowledge of Word and Excel spreadsheet functions).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of loans, loan systems and documents.
- Adequate knowledge of both internal policies and procedures and the respective state and federal laws and regulations governing departmental functions to ensure performance of individual job duties within the proper control environment.
Human Relations: High level of interpersonal skills to interact with customers, bankers, title and insurance companies in a professional manner.
Responsibility and Decision-Making: Must be able to prioritize to meet deadlines.
