Job Description Summary
Perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Includes Service Shops. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient material movement.
- Coordinate incoming raw materials, components, finished goods, and outbound shipments.
- Oversee loading, unloading, staging, labeling, packaging, and material handling activities.
- Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions and ensure proper material identification and traceability.
- Operate and oversee use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Train, coach, and provide direction to shipping and receiving personnel.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies, damaged materials, shortages, and receiving issues.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Planning, and Logistics teams to support production schedules.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse and shipping/receiving area.
- Support continuous-improvement initiatives to reduce errors, improve material flow, and increase operational efficiency.
- Prepare shipping documentation, labels, reports, and system transactions as required.
- Monitor daily workload and prioritize activities based on production and customer requirements.
- Serve as the lead point of contact for shipping and receiving issues and escalate problems when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced experience in the Manufacturing & Production.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or a High School Diploma / GED with at least 6 years of manufacturing experience
- Minimum of 3 years of shipping and or receiving experience
- Must possess soft skills and or leadership qualities to be successful in leading a team
- Must be willing and able to work 100% onsite in the GEV Schenectady, NY location
Desired Characteristics
- Shipping & Receiving experience in Railroad transportation
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $91,700.00 and $152,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
