Product Specialist, Silicones, Laird® Technologies

Description

Laird™ Technologies, a Qnity™ business, has an opening for an Asia-Pacific (AP) Product Specialist to join the Silicones team. The Laird™ Silicones organization delivers solutions across various markets including automotive, consumer, datacenter, industrial and telecom/datacom segments. The Laird™ Silicone product portfolio includes a broad set of Thermal Interface Materials (TIMs) for advanced semiconductor packaging and optical materials for LED packages.

The Product Specialist will lead cross-functional product and business initiatives within the Silicone portfolio, supporting pricing, profitability, product commercialization, and portfolio growth. Working closely with R&D, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and global Product Managers, this role drives project execution, facilitates alignment across functions, and ensures successful and timely delivery of key business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a heavy bias for action, strong project management and communication skills, and a balanced technical and financial acumen. A can-do attitude and willingness to take on new challenges are also needed for this role.

Job Description (Functional Responsibilities):

  • Manage product lines within Silicone portfolio as required to ensure accurate costing, support quoting processes as required, conduct margin and pricing analysis.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to keep product development and launch activities on track, proactively resolving issues and ensuring timely commercialization.

  • Serve as a product line expert, facilitating product information and data sharing between technology and commercial organizations.

  • Collaborate with Communications team to create and maintain effective marketing collateral, advertising campaigns, sales tools, and trade show engagement.

  • Partner with Sales, Supply Chain, Operation teams to identify demand shifts, supply risks, and potential gaps, and develop mitigation plans.

  • Collaborate closely with global Product Managers to drive growth.

  • Serve as a key team member of a global Product Management and Marketing Organization, collaborating closely on various initiatives with team members across the world.

Qualifications (Knowledge & Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or engineering is required

  • 3+ years of proven experience in product line management, project management, business development or marketing roles is preferred

  • Experience in electronics industry

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of global business practices is preferred

  • Experience leading project teams and managing complex projects is desired

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong cross functional relationships with business leaders, sales, customer service, R&D, supply chain, and operations teams

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (both oral and written) at all levels

  • Proficient in English as second language (ESL)

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills. Highly skilled in negotiation and influence management.

  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, and ability to turn data into business insights and provide recommendations

Job Information

This position is based in Tokyo, Japan, and will be part of a global Product Management team supporting the Silicone portfolio. The successful candidate will report to the Global Product Management Leader and work closely with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams globally. The role will require occasional travel to the Chiba site to support new product development and manufacturing projects.
