You independently operate and maintain at leas one process or equipment or systems following autonomous maintenance (AM) standards and use your technical skills to improve line and/or system performance to meet business needs.

How you will contribute

You are a key ingredient in changing how the world snacks. You will operate and maintains equipment to meet our safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets. You will execute all standard work processes using AM and PM (progressive maintenance standards). In this role, you will ensure that safety processes are observed, and that quality assurance activities are performed. You will take an active role in shutdown maintenance, root-cause analysis, stops reductions loss analysis and breakdown elimination.

Role Summary 

  • Operates equipment to package bulk candyPerforms running adjustments to equipment to ensure optimum efficiency and outputWorks closely with Bulk Handler and Line Manager to ensure product and packaging materials meets quality requirements. 

 

Major/Essential Responsibilities  

  • Operates Halls twist wrap equipment in order to produce product within specified tolerances, using initiative, judgement and experience in order to maintain optimum efficiency of operation and quality of product. 

  • Operates a minimum of two EK3 machines. 

  • Assist with start up, shutdown and changeovers to ensure they take place efficiently and appropriately. 

  • Responsible for the safe operation of equipment/work centre and achieving standard output requirements. 

  • Responsible for simple goods issue transaction in SAP using scanner/tablet 

  • Continually checks identification of bulk and finishing supplies to avoid mix-ups. 

  • Some lifting and mounting or paper rolls – up to 10KG. 

  • Completes online inspection, checks and documents quality of product at the beginning of each run and every 15 minutes thereafter to ensure product meets quality specification. 

 

  • Makes visual checks of product on carrier belt, conveyors. 

  • Clears product jams, makes minor adjustments to obtain efficient operation. 

  • Responsible for cleaning machine, including carrier belts/conveyors, and other utensils. 

  • Responsible for the effective and cleaning of the conveyor system to the bagging line area. 

  • Maintains order and cleanliness of work area following 5S. 

  • Operates equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Formula and Process Instructions. 

  • Provides relief for breaks as required. 

  • Effectively participates in 10x5 (IL6S) activities through effective communications and overall group performance. 

 

Experience / Skills 

  • Must operate high-speed, automated wrapping unit to produce product within specified tolerances.  

  • Must have mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and perform running adjustments to equipment/product to ensure optimum quality and output. 

  • Must have the ability to read, comprehend and follow complex instructions. 

  • Must be willing to share job knowledge/skills with others. 

  • Must plan and organize daily activities of self. 

  • Must observe all safety rules, practices and procedures in the performance of duties. 

  • Must maintain quality specifications at all times. 

  • Must possess computer skills to be able to complete checks in Quality Suites 

  • Able to troubleshoot and correct minor operating problems 

Salary and Benefits:

The expected annualized salary range for this position is $49,105.00 to $68,757.00 CAD depending on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget.  In addition to base salary, this position is eligible to participate in a highly competitive bonus program with a target of 5% with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results, and potential shift premiums and / or overtime.
