About the Position
We are currently seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our Emergency & Critical Care team. This is a full-time weekend position working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7 AM–7 PM.
The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills, a positive attitude, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality emergency veterinary care.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with emergency and critical care patients
- Provide compassionate client service through communication, education, and relationship building
- Perform veterinary diagnostics including digital radiographs, bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal testing, and cytology
- Administer medications via IV, SQ, IM, and PO routes
- Place and maintain intravenous catheters
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with sedated procedures, including laceration repairs
- Provide care and monitoring for hospitalized veterinary patients
- Assist with patient treatments and emergency procedures as needed
- Dispense and prepare medications under veterinary direction
- Clean, organize, and restock treatment and patient care areas
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient emergency veterinary environment
- Work collaboratively with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service team members
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience required
- Veterinary emergency or critical care experience is preferred
- Strong veterinary technical and patient-care skills
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced emergency environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume ER setting
- Genuine passion for animal health, emergency medicine, and saving lives

Because we are a 24-hour emergency and specialty veterinary hospital, flexibility for occasional nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
