Staff Product Engineer

Location - New York, NY (On-site) - On-site role requiring five days per week in-office in New York City.

Compensation - $280,000 – $380,000 Base + Significant Early-Stage Equity

Visa - Open to Visa Transfers (OPT, H1B Transfers)

As a Staff Product Engineer, you'll operate as a key technical authority within the organization, owning the architecture and technical direction of new products from 0-to-1.

This is a high-impact, hands-on individual contributor role where you'll work closely with founders and engineering leadership, shape product strategy, mentor senior engineers, and own production outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Own and drive the architectural direction for new products from 0-to-1
• Design and build new AI-native developer tools and products
• Translate business and product strategy into long-term technical roadmaps
• Turn ambiguous product problems into clear technical strategies and execution plans
• Lead the development of high-value products from initial concept through production
• Make critical architecture and system design decisions across the full stack
• Build exceptional customer-facing experiences for highly technical users
• Own production outcomes including reliability, performance, scalability, and operational excellence
• Establish technical standards and engineering best practices across product development
• Lead technical direction while operating as an individual contributor
• Mentor senior engineers and act as a force multiplier across the organization
• Work closely with founders and engineering leadership on product and technical strategy
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Operate effectively in highly ambiguous problem spaces where both the problem and solution must be defined
• Use coding agents and agentic development tools aggressively to accelerate engineering workflows
• Help establish and improve engineering practices around AI-assisted and agentic software development
• Identify opportunities to streamline development workflows through AI tooling
• Balance speed, technical quality, maintainability, and customer impact
• Own products and systems through deployment, iteration, and ongoing production operation
• Raise the engineering bar through technical leadership, mentorship, and strong execution
• Communicate technical tradeoffs clearly to engineers, leadership, and non-technical stakeholders

Experience Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong full-stack engineering background
• Proven experience owning 0-to-1 product development end-to-end
• Experience designing, building, deploying, and scaling products in high-growth environments
• Experience leading technical direction for high-value products
• Experience working at high-growth startups or scale-ups with strong engineering cultures
• Experience at developer tooling, infrastructure, or developer-focused technology companies preferred
• Experience building products for highly technical customers
• Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior individual contributor with broad technical ownership
• Experience influencing technical direction without relying on formal management authority
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and raising engineering standards
• Strong track record of delivering exceptional customer-facing products
