Description
About Pendulum
Pendulum® is leading a revolution that is occurring around the world to improve physical and mental health by first understanding, then restoring and enhancing the human microbiome.
Studies have shown that our microbiome (the bacterial communities +
in and on our bodies) is linked to everything from metabolism and diabetes, to longevity, weight loss, healthy immune systems, cancer prevention, feelings of well-being, inflammatory bowel disease, and even healthy skin. We have just scratched the surface on understanding the impact that our microbiome has on our lives. During early life we develop a diverse and balanced microbiome that plays a critical role in shaping our long-term health. Over our lives, a combination of diet, lifestyle, antibiotics, and aging can decrease the effectiveness of our microbiome.
Pendulum recognized the enormous impact they could have on people’s lives if they were able to address the imbalances in the microbiome. To accomplish this, Pendulum created proprietary probiotic pipelines and a unique discovery platform to identify key, novel bacterial strains and the prebiotics that feed them. The company has also built and developed the world’s first manufacturing technology to produce bacteria in an anaerobic (oxygen-free) environment at scale.
The medical probiotics that Pendulum has formulated have transformed the consumer probiotics market into a new category of therapeutic offerings that deliver the power and efficacy of a pharmaceutical with the safety and accessibility of a natural probiotic. Due to Pendulum’s explosive revenue and customer growth over the last two years, the company earned a spot on Forbes Magazine’s exclusive “The Next Billion Dollar Startups” list.
If you’re interested in improving the lives of people globally and you love working in a cross-functional, collaborative, inspiring environment, please continue reading.

The Opportunity
Pendulum is seeking a Director, Influencer Marketing to build an industry-defining influencer platform that establishes Pendulum as the most credible and trusted brand in microbiome science—and turns that trust into meaningful brand and revenue growth.
This is an opportunity to architect the strategy, not simply manage an existing program. You will determine how Pendulum engages the full spectrum of influential voices—from scientists, physicians and other trusted experts to customers, cultural tastemakers, creators, celebrities and performance-driven affiliates. You will build a portfolio in which each plays a distinct role in earning consumer trust, educating the market, shaping the category and driving demand.
The ideal candidate is an ambitious strategist, relationship builder and hands-on operator. You can deeply understand the science behind Pendulum’s differentiation and translate it into stories that are credible, compelling and highly shareable. You recognize that trust must be earned through authentic voices, scientific integrity and consistent execution—and you know how to build a strategy that protects that trust while accelerating growth. You bring strong creative instincts, commercial discipline and the drive to roll up your sleeves—identifying talent, building relationships, developing breakthrough content, negotiating partnerships, analyzing performance and continuously improving the model.
You will serve as the connective tissue across Pendulum’s marketing organization, partnering closely with our external PR firm and our creative, organic, growth and DTC teams to ensure influencer storytelling is amplified across earned, owned and paid channels. Your work will help define how consumers understand the microbiome, why they trust Pendulum and why Pendulum is uniquely positioned to lead the category.
Success will be measured by your ability to build a scalable influencer engine that consistently generates distinctive content, deepens consumer trust, strengthens Pendulum’s authority and delivers measurable business results. Key indicators will include brand and category leadership, content quality and effectiveness, organic reach and engagement, earned-media impact, qualified site traffic, conversion efficiency, customer acquisition and revenue growth.
