This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we’re developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin’s mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies.

We are building the road to space, which means rapidly expanding our mission cadence, increasing our manufacturing capabilities by orders of magnitude, and inventing new vehicles and systems such as lunar landers and Mars orbiters. Achieving these goals requires that we scale Blue Origin Manufacturing through software and artificial intelligence.

As Director, Product Management and Design, you will be responsible for Blue Origin's manufacturing execution system (MES), and be responsible for the core systems that help us achieve higher manufacturing rates. You will lead a capable team of product managers and UX designers, and forward deploy to the floor where we build rockets, engines, and satellites. Your team is the trusted partner that solves critical problems for manufacturing engineers, technicians, production planners, and operations executives, for example: how do we allocate materials / machines / labor to the right priorities, how do we improve yields and reduce defects, and how do we automate critical decisions and planning processes.

In this role, you will:

• Define strategy, roadmap, and priorities for Blue Origin's Manufacturing Execution (MES) and Production Planning systems

• Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of product and UX design

• Champion a culture of customer/user focus, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all manufacturing and planning domains

• Obsess over results and impact, not just software delivery

• Live on the factory floor in some weeks, solving problems alongside your team and your manufacturing operations partners

• Apply and sharpen your AI skills, both to deliver immediate results and to improve our judgment and thinking

• Develop incredible partnerships with your peer directors and VPs across software engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and Blue Origin's business units like New Glenn

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field

• 10+ years of product and software experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles managing teams

• Demonstrated experience in the manufacturing or production planning domains, helping manufacturing leaders solve problems through software

• Proven ability to manage cross-functional programs, balance competing priorities, and deliver under schedule and budget constraints

• Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical topics to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders

• Ability to influence executives and drive complex decisions, including those in fields different from your own

• Proficiency with AI harnesses and coding tools

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep experience with aerospace industry and aerospace regulatory standards like AS9100, ITAR, EAR

• Master's degree or relevant experience in business and finance
