About The Role

• The position of Assistant in Nursing (AIN) is responsible for contributing to the basic care needs of patients at The Mater.

• The AIN will be complimentary support to the nursing team but assisting in the overall care planning of patient care, and by contributing to providing optimal patient care in a safe, timely and professional manner.

• Assists nursing staff in the provision of basic nursing care. 

• Contributes to the hourly rounding process. Participate in and promote professional development activities for self and other staff members. 

• Participates in department and hospital staff meetings and education programs. 

• Maintains an environment that is at all times directed towards the safety and welfare of visitors and staff. 

About You

• Enrolled in and undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing at 2nd year level.

• Enrolled in and undertaking a Diploma of Nursing and in at least 2nd stage.

• Strong commitment to providing excellent and thorough clinical care.

• Sound knowledge of manual handling practices and infection control standards/principles.
