M&E Facilities Engineer
Technical Lead – Central Region
Company Overview:
MST Facilities Sdn Bhd is an Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) company providing M&E, HVAC, engineering maintenance, and facility management services to multinational corporations, manufacturing plants, and critical facilities across Malaysia.
As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a technically capable and commercially minded M&E Facilities Engineer to join our team and support our expanding operations in the Central Region.
Position Summary:
The M&E Facilities Engineer will serve as a technical lead and engineering support for MST's Central Region operations. The role will provide M&E expertise to support Business Development, Facility Management, Project, and Mobile Team divisions, while strengthening the technical competency of the organization.
The successful candidate should have good hands-on knowledge of M&E systems, particularly HVAC, and experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments.
Key Functions:
- Act as the M&E technical lead and engineering support for MST's Central Region.
- Provide technical support to Business Development, FM Operations, Project, and Mobile Team divisions.
- Support business growth through technical solutions, site assessments, proposals, costing, and customer presentations.
- Drive technical competency development and continuous improvement within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. M&E Technical Support:
- Provide M&E engineering expertise to all divisions and functions, including:
- Business Development / FM.
- Project Division.
- Mobile Team.
- Operations and Site Teams.
- Provide technical advice and solutions for HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and facility-related issues.
- Support troubleshooting, system improvement, and technical problem-solving at customer sites.
- Review technical proposals, specifications, drawings, and method statements where required.
2. Business Development & Project Support:
- Support the Business Development team during site surveys, customer meetings, technical discussions, and tender preparation.
- Provide technical input for IFM proposals, quotations, and project costing.
- Assist in developing technical solutions and scope of work for new business opportunities.
- Support project teams during project planning, execution, testing, and commissioning.
- Participate in customer presentations and technical discussions when required.
3. Technical Competency Development:
- Identify technical competency gaps within the organization and recommend appropriate training.
- Develop and share technical knowledge, best practices, and troubleshooting methods with engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
- Conduct technical briefings and on-the-job coaching for site teams.
- Promote consistent engineering and maintenance standards across MST operations.
- Support the development of technical procedures, checklists, and maintenance standards.
4. Customer & Site Support:
- Provide technical assistance for critical customer issues and equipment failures.
- Conduct site assessments and recommend corrective or improvement measures.
- Support operations teams in maintaining customer SLA, KPI, safety, and performance requirements.
- Maintain good technical relationships with customers, consultants, and vendors.
Technical Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in M&E engineering or facilities-related engineering.
- Good knowledge and practical understanding of:
- HVAC / ACMV systems.
- Mechanical & Electrical building services.
- Fire & Life Safety Systems (FLSSS).
- Facilities Management.
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial facilities is highly preferred.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Able to read and understand M&E drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and engineering documentation.
Technical Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
- CIDB, DOSH/NIOSH, energy management, HVAC, or other relevant technical certifications are advantageous.
