The Learning Design Lead partners with Tech leaders and associates to identify and address performance and knowledge gaps through strategic learning solutions. This role designs, delivers, and scales impactful learning experiences for Tech Leadership Development programs. You will build leadership capabilities across the Tech organization. Leveraging performance consulting, adult learning theory, and instructional design best practices, the Learning Design Lead develops content. The Learning Design Lead collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders at all levels of the organization to drive continuous improvement and measurable outcomes.

You will lead the end-to-end design and delivery of engaging virtual, in-person, and hybrid leadership development programs. These programs ground themselves in adult learning principles that support skill-building across various leadership levels.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business and HR leaders to assess needs, define development priorities, and align learning solutions to performance outcomes.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, learning designers, Enterprise Learning, HR, and senior leaders to ensure development efforts are aligned with organizational goals and culture.
  • Independently manage multiple initiatives with full accountability for timelines, resources, stakeholder engagement, quality delivery, and reporting.
  • Develop measurement strategies, analyze feedback and business impact, and iterate programs to maximize effectiveness and engagement.
  • Integrate generative AI tools into learning design to accelerate development and scale content creation.
  • Oversee logistics associated with leadership learning programs—including scheduling, technology setup, communications, materials, participant tracking and post-program follow-up.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational development, Learning & Development, Education, or a related field or relevant work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience designing and developing leadership training, including e-learning modules and instructor-led sessions in a corporate setting.
  • 5+ years of facilitating dynamic training experiences across various modalities (in-person, virtual, hybrid) in a corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating leadership programs with executive presence.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, logistics coordination, and follow-through.
  • Demonstrated experience of adult learning theory, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and performance improvement approaches.
  • Experience using learning systems and AI-enabled learning platforms (e.g., Articulate, Cornerstone on Demand, Vyond, Lucid, Microsoft 365, and virtual collaboration tools)
  • Proficient in creating and editing multimedia learning assets using industry-standard tools, including Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Animate, Audition, Express, Illustrator, Photoshop) and eLearning development platforms such as Articulate 360 and Adobe Captivate.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to measure and communicate learning impact.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • While not a supervisory role, you should have 3+ years of experience guiding leaders and effectively engaging executive stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, or a related field
  • Certifications in learning, coaching, or leadership assessments (e.g., Drexler-Sibbett Team Performance Model, DiSC, CliftonStrengths, CEC, ICF-ACC or higher, CPTD/APTD)
  • Experience managing courses in Cornerstone on Demand or a similar LMS
  • Experience in Tech, health care, or insurance environments

Additional Information

  • Qualified candidates are required to currently live in, or be willing to move to, a commutable distance for a hybrid (~3 days in-office) work arrangement
  • Location options are currently:
    • Louisville, KY metropolitan area
    • Washington, D.C. metropolitan area

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$94,900 - $130,500 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
