Description
You will report to a CAT Risk Senior Manager.
In this hybrid role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from the office. Candidates should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783 or Boston, MA 02110.

Position Compensation Range:

Responsibilities:
- Perform catastrophe modeling analyses using catastrophe modeling software for assessing data input, model set-up, model execution, result extraction and loss analytics.
- Develop analytical tools, reports, and data to understand the impacts of natural disasters to the enterprise's business, including applying a variety of geospatial analysis techniques to analysis projects.
- Monitor catastrophe peril events in the United States daily and assist identifying the potential impact on the Enterprise business.
- Evaluate catastrophe management software and models and exploring industry best practices and business strategies in earth science technologies.
- Manipulate and investigate complex datasets and form data requirements and model specifications needed for development.
- Bring in new ideas and approaches to develop business.
Requirements:
- Your experience with programming languages (like R or Python) would be helpful, along with strong analytical skills.
- 1+ years of experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-oriented solutions or support.
- Experience with Catastrophe management software and catastrophe peril models.
- Experience with natural catastrophe risk and it's application to the insurance space and catastrophe modeling.
- Proficiency in programming languages suitable for database
- Basic knowledge of earth science, property insurance and applications of natural catastrophe risks to the insurance product
- Ability to work as part of a team and to communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in programming languages suitable for database access, scripting, and statistical analysis
- Demonstrated experience using large amounts of structured, semi structured, and unstructured data.
- Solid knowledge of managing data to scale using data summarization, query and analysis software and tools.
- Travel Requirements - Up to 10%.
