Description
The City of Saint Paul Public Works Department is hiring a Civil Engineer III to manage the Resident Services section of Traffic Engineering Division with the primary responsibilities of overseeing and responding to all community inquiries as well as managing the site plan review process for Traffic Engineering.
- Apply and interpret technical data to make sound and consistent decisions in Traffic Engineering even when the answers are not definitive.
- Manage, prioritize, and complete a high volume of work tasks and public inquiries. This position requires the incumbent to frequently re-prioritize and adjust the order of work based on new or changing information.
- Communicate with constituents, agency partners, internal partners, staff, supervisors and managers on topics of varying degrees of complexity.
- Present technical information in a variety of forums, including council members, district councils, community meetings, and neighborhood meetings.
- Investigate, address, and respond to inquiries from the public about traffic engineering issues.
- Manage parking, loading, and curbside use requests.
- Lead Traffic Engineering review of development site plans and traffic studies.
- Perform other duties as assigned including project management, construction plan development, and traffic safety analysis.

Information Specific to this Position:
This position will be located at 25 4th Street W, Saint Paul (City Hall Annex), with flexibility for some remote work. Standard Monday through Friday working hours and occasional evening meetings required.

Must possess and maintain Licensure in the State of Minnesota as a Professional Civil Engineer, and four years of Civil Engineering experience, at least two years of which must be as a Civil Engineer II or equivalent.
Licensure as a Professional Civil Engineer is required by date of appointment. Licensure as a Professional Civil Engineer within the State of Minnesota is required within six months of appointment.
