We are seeking a Family Time Coordinator (Social Service Assistant) | Bilingual English/Spanish required to join our dedicated Child Welfare (CW) team in Hillsboro.
Bilingual requirement (English/Spanish)
This position is bilingual and requires duties to be carried out in both English and Spanish.
The job offer will be contingent upon passing test(s) evaluating your proficiency in the bilingual requirements of the position.
This position may receive a 5% differential pay based on passing the required language test.

Summary of Duties
As a Family Time Coordinator you will:
Gather and Document Information: Collect and record information from the caseworker, children, parents, relatives, case providers, schools, and other relevant resources to plan family time visits.
Review Family Time Agreements: Meet with parents and caregivers to review family time agreements and guidelines, suggesting community resources as needed.
Supervise Family Time: Supervise family time in an office or community setting, documenting relevant information. This ensures the safety and well-being of the children during these interactions.
Transport Children: Assist with transporting children and parents/guardians to family time visits and other necessary appointments.
Collaborate with Caseworkers: Work closely with caseworkers to assess the details of family time supervision. Recommend services needed for case planning and relay important information about the children and their families or caregivers

Minimum Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
One year of experience working in a human services or behavioral health setting; OR
An associate degree in any field; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience building rapport with clients and effectively responding to emotionally escalated or crisis situations using trauma-informed and person-centered approaches.
Experience maintaining accurate, timely, and objective case documentation, including observations and case notes, using electronic case management systems.
Preference will be given to candidates that are bilingual in Spanish and English.

Working Conditions Need to work on with Manager
Your work schedule: The typical work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time, and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
Work hours may be adjusted to meet business needs. Employees may be required to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, under certain circumstances.
Occasional mandatory overtime may be required.
Work is performed in the Store Front Office, community settings, and clients' homes. The office environment consists of cubicles and may involve frequent interruptions and moderate to high noise levels.
Travel: Work is performed in office settings, participants' homes, and community locations across multiple Oregon counties and in Washington State, with travel to other locations as needed.
This position requires travel for more than 50% of the work schedule, including travel in hazardous weather conditions and during evening or other low-light conditions. Overnight travel may be required to attend meetings, training, and other case-related activities.
Physical Requirements: Frequent physical activity is required, including lifting up to 50 pounds, assisting children with car seats, and responding quickly to ensure children's safety, which may include running, bending, lifting, or other physical interventions.
This position involves working with individuals impacted by trauma who may exhibit strong emotional reactions, including potential hostility. Employees may encounter stressful situations requiring prompt, well-reasoned decisions and must use a trauma-informed approach when addressing sensitive issues related to trauma, abuse, and crises to help ensure a safe and supportive environment.
Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record to use state vehicles. Reasonable accommodation per the ADA or creative solutions in certain cases may be used to meet this need.

The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship. Within three days of hire, you will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Security’s I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States. ODHS will use E-Verify to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States.
Finalists must be cleared by the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) through a fingerprint-based criminal records check.
A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
