The Opportunity
Join Hitachi Energy and play an important role in supporting the efficient movement of materials that help power critical energy infrastructure. As a Shipper & Receiver, you will be responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, inspecting incoming materials, and ensuring products are properly documented and handled. Working on our afternoon shift, you will collaborate with operations, logistics, and warehouse teams to support production activities and maintain the smooth flow of materials throughout the facility. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment where attention to detail, organization, and a commitment to quality contribute directly to operational success and customer satisfaction.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Inspect and verify incoming materials, parts, and accessories to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Receive, inspect, identify, and document transformer products and related materials.
- Prepare shipping documentation and coordinate transportation activities for outgoing shipments.
- Maintain accurate inventory and shipping records to support efficient warehouse operations.
- Monitor and track inventory supplies to ensure material availability.
- Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment to safely load and unload products.
- Support waste management activities and ensure compliance with chemical shipping requirements.
- Contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient working environment while supporting operational priorities.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transformer repair.
- Experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or logistics coordination within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in record keeping and inventory documentation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Availability to work the afternoon shift, Monday through Thursday, from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
