The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking an experienced Edge Sync Engineer, Senior to support resilient data synchronization and network engineering operations across the Indo-Pacific. The Edge Sync Engineer, Senior serves as CACI's senior network engineering professional responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining edge synchronization architectures that enable secure, reliable, and resilient data exchange between deployed edge systems and enterprise environments operating in disconnected, disrupted, intermittent, and limited (DDIL) conditions. Reporting directly to the Platform Integration Lead, this position ensures mission-critical logistics, operational, and mission support data remain synchronized across distributed networks supporting Joint and Special Operations missions.

The Edge Sync Engineer works closely with Government stakeholders, systems engineers, software developers, database administrators, cybersecurity personnel, communications engineers, logistics planners, and mission partners to develop synchronization strategies, optimize network performance, and implement resilient edge computing solutions. This position contributes to successful program execution by improving enterprise data availability, enabling operational continuity, and supporting distributed logistics operations throughout the Indo-Pacific theater.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain edge synchronization solutions supporting distributed and expeditionary operations.

  • Develop synchronization architectures enabling secure replication of logistics, mission support, operational, and asset visibility data between edge devices and enterprise systems.

  • Configure synchronization services supporting operations in disconnected, disrupted, intermittent, and limited (DDIL) environments.

  • Design resilient network architectures utilizing Primary, Alternate, Contingency, and Emergency (PACE) communications methodologies.

  • Integrate edge computing platforms, local databases, cloud services, and enterprise applications to ensure reliable data synchronization.

  • Monitor synchronization performance, network health, latency, bandwidth utilization, and replication status while implementing corrective actions.

  • Coordinate with database administrators, software developers, systems engineers, and cybersecurity personnel to optimize synchronization workflows.

  • Troubleshoot synchronization failures, network connectivity issues, replication conflicts, and distributed application performance.

  • Develop technical documentation, synchronization procedures, network diagrams, and executive-level engineering reports.

  • Support operational exercises, contingency operations, technology demonstrations, and mission rehearsals validating edge synchronization capabilities.

  • Ensure compliance with Department of Defense cybersecurity policies, Zero Trust principles, network engineering standards, and contractual requirements.

  • Support cloud integration, enterprise modernization, and digital transformation initiatives involving edge computing technologies.

  • Maintain configuration management documentation, synchronization policies, and system baseline records.

  • Mentor junior engineers while promoting network engineering best practices, resilience, and continuous process improvement.

  • Support geographically dispersed and contested operations requiring resilient data synchronization and distributed network architectures.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Minimum 8 years of experience supporting network engineering, systems engineering, edge computing, distributed systems, enterprise networking, or information technology engineering for Government or Department of Defense programs.

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense, Joint, Combatant Command, Service Component, Special Operations organizations, or Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) activities.

  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise network architectures, distributed systems, or data synchronization solutions.

  • Experience supporting network operations in disconnected, degraded, or contested operational environments.

  • Experience troubleshooting enterprise network performance, synchronization services, routing, switching, and distributed application connectivity.

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare technical documentation and brief senior Government leadership on network architecture, synchronization strategies, and operational performance.

Desired

  • Bachelor's Degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Master's Degree in Information Systems, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is highly desirable.

  • Experience supporting USSOCOM, SOCPAC, Geographic Combatant Commands, Joint Task Forces, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), or Special Operations organizations.

  • Experience supporting Indo-Pacific operations, contested logistics, DDIL environments, edge computing, cloud integration, or distributed mission command systems.

  • Experience utilizing Cisco IOS/XE, VMware, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, Kubernetes, Docker, Power BI, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Azure Arc, Azure IoT Edge, Apache Kafka, and enterprise synchronization technologies.

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, SD-WAN, Zero Trust Architecture, Risk Management Framework (RMF), DDIL networking, edge computing, data replication, software-defined networking, and resilient communications architectures.

  • Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Enterprise), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate, or equivalent network engineering certifications are preferred.

  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed Government programs involving OCONUS operations, Special Operations Forces, enterprise edge computing, resilient network synchronization, and distributed logistics operations throughout the Indo-Pacific is highly desirable.
