Job Description

What is the opportunity?

RBC has more than one front door. This role closes them and builds one. As Director, Unified Sign In, you will own RBC's central digital authentication platform, the roadmap, the outcome, contribute to  the strategy, and you will lead the migration of digital access management across multiple lines of business onto it. That means retail banking, wealth, insurance, each with their own tech stack, their own client base, their own delivery pressures, and their own preferences.

This is a platform product role and a change leadership role in equal measure. Roughly half your energy will go into building something excellent; the other half into making adoption the obvious, easy, and inevitable choice for teams you don't control. You'll need to sell a vision, negotiate roadmaps with peers, sequence migrations that can't break client access, and hold a firm line on standards while staying genuinely useful to your partners.

The prize is significant: one consistent, secure, modern sign-in experience for RBC clients, a dramatically simplified control environment, and a foundation for everything that comes next in digital security. Reporting to the Senior Director, Digital Trust.

What will you do?

  • Own the roadmap, and delivery of RBC's central authentication platform, session management, step-up authentication, and support for passkeys and modern authentication standards.

  • Build and execute the enterprise migration strategy, sequencing dependencies, cutover approach, rollback plans, and a softening the client impact as change is rolled out.

  • Lead the change management program end to end: stakeholder mapping, executive sponsorship, business case articulation, onboarding playbooks, training, and adoption tracking

  • Negotiate and land migration commitments with LOB executives and Technology leaders, aligning their roadmaps and funding to the platform plan

  • Lead multiple agile squads covering platform capability, client experience, and business onboarding/migration

  • Establish and report the metrics that matter, properties migrated, clients on platform, authentication success and latency, incident volume…

  • Manage resistance and escalation constructively: surface real blockers, solve what you can, escalate what you can't, and keep the program moving.

  • Partner with Technology, Cyber Security, Risk, Fraud, Privacy, and Architecture to ensure the platform meets enterprise control and regulatory expectations

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 8+ years across product, digital, or technology leadership, including ownership of a shared platform, enterprise service, or large-scale migration program

  • Demonstrated success driving change across organizational boundaries, you've moved teams that didn't report to you, and you can describe exactly how

  • Solid working knowledge of modern authentication and identity architecture: SSO, federation, OIDC/OAuth 2.0/SAML, MFA, session management, CIAM platforms

  • Executive presence and negotiation skill; credible with both a business head and a chief architect

  • Experience leading agile product squads and managing a complex, dependency heavy delivery plan

  • Resilience and diplomacy in equal measure, this role encounters friction by design

  • Track record in a large, matrixed, regulated environment

Nice-to-have

  • Prior experience migrating or consolidating identity/access platforms at enterprise scale

  • Financial services or another highly regulated industry

  • Familiarity with commercial CIAM platforms and their enterprise migration patterns

  • Formal change management credential or comparable applied experience

  • MBA or equivalent graduate-level business education

  • Bilingualism (English and French)

What's in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

End-to-end ownership of a flagship enterprise platform and the program that lands it Enterprise-wide exposure, you will work with, and be visible to, leaders across every major RBC business.

A defining line on your resume: unifying digital access for one of North America's largest banks. Leaders who back you when the change gets hard, and a clear path to broader leadership Flexible, hybrid work arrangements.
