Description

Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday The role focuses on identifying, investigating, and validating potential billing, margin, and customer account issues through data analysis, account audits, and assurance reviews. Working closely with the HBB Assurance Specialist, the role provides reliable insight, evidence, and control oversight to support remediation activities, strengthen operational processes, and ensure customers are billed accurately and fairly. Support the delivery of Home Broadband (HBB) assurance activities to help protect revenue, improve billing accuracy, and strengthen operational controls. Investigate billing, margin, and customer account exceptions, performing initial triage to identify potential risks, root causes, and areas requiring further review. Conduct detailed account audits and assurance reviews to validate billing accuracy, control effectiveness, and customer charging integrity. Analyse customer billing data, discounts, early termination fees (ETFs), credits, and compensation activity to identify anomalies, trends, and opportunities for improvement. Perform assurance checks across systems and platforms to verify that active services are being billed correctly and in line with business policies. Support cost assurance activities through data validation, reconciliations, and reviews of supplier and wholesale billing information. Create, maintain, and organise high-quality audit evidence, supporting documentation, and working papers to ensure audit readiness and compliance with assurance standards. Partner with colleagues across Finance, Operations, Commercial, and Technology teams to gather information, resolve issues, and support business decision-making. Produce accurate and insightful data analysis to support assurance reporting, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Escalate identified risks, issues, and control weaknesses, helping drive effective remediation and improved customer and commercial outcomes. You have experience in assurance, billing, finance, revenue assurance, data analysis, audit, or a related analytical environment. You are naturally curious and enjoy investigating issues, identifying patterns in data, and understanding the root cause of problems. You have excellent attention to detail and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. You are comfortable working with large data sets, reports, and reconciliations, turning information into meaningful insights and actions. You can follow structured processes and controls while also recognising opportunities to improve ways of working. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess information, challenge assumptions, and draw logical conclusions. You communicate clearly and confidently, tailoring information to different stakeholders and building effective working relationships. You manage competing priorities effectively, delivering accurate results within deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You have a growth mindset, are keen to learn new skills, and are motivated to develop your expertise in assurance, controls, and financial analysis. Experience using Excel, SQL, Power BI, reporting tools, or assurance methodologies would be advantageous.
