Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Structural Inspector to support the construction supervision and quality assurance of major high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, and large-scale building developments in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting structural works, verifying compliance with approved drawings and specifications, and ensuring that all construction activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and structural integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
Your role
- Conduct inspections of structural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
- Review contractor Inspection Requests (IRs) and perform inspections in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Verify that structural materials including concrete, reinforcement steel, structural steel, grout, and anchoring systems comply with approved specifications.
- Review and monitor contractor quality control records, test reports, and inspection documentation.
- Verify concrete sampling, cube testing, slump testing, and field quality control procedures.
- Ensure structural works comply with approved tolerances, dimensions, levels, and alignment requirements.
- Identify defects, deficiencies, and non-conforming works and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor construction progress and provide updates on structural work status.
- Coordinate inspections with contractors, QA/QC teams, materials engineers, surveyors, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with approved method statements and construction procedures.
- Review temporary works installations and monitor site implementation for compliance.
- Participate in quality audits, site walks, and multidisciplinary inspections.
- Monitor compliance with project HSE requirements during structural construction activities.
- Assist in resolving structural construction issues and site-related technical challenges.
- Maintain inspection records, site diaries, punch lists, and quality documentation.
- Support testing, commissioning, snagging, de-snagging, and handover activities.
- Review as-built records and verify completion of structural works before handover.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inspection reports for project management.
About you
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Certification in Construction Inspection or Quality Control is preferred.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is an advantage.
- Training in reinforced concrete inspection, structural steel inspection, or quality management systems is desirable.
- CSWIP, AWS, ACI, or equivalent certifications would be advantageous.
- 5 to 10 years of professional experience in structural inspection and construction supervision.
- Minimum 3 years of experience on high-rise and major building construction projects.
- Previous Saudi Arabia or GCC experience is highly preferred.
- Experience working with consultants, PMCs, contractors, and developers.
- Experience in reinforced concrete and structural steel construction supervision.
- Demonstrated experience in quality inspections, testing, and project handover activities.
