This role combines technical leadership, business development, and team management responsibilities, ensuring the successful delivery and growth of JLL's Building Consultancy services. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the Building Consultancy business whilst maintaining hands-on involvement in technical advisory assignments, supporting clients throughout the asset lifecycle.

The position requires a highly experienced professional with strong technical expertise in building consultancy services, project delivery, and multidisciplinary coordination, ideally with significant exposure to MEP systems and building engineering.

The Director will work closely with internal teams across Project & Development Services, Sustainability, Valuations, Capital Markets, Strategic Consulting and other business lines to deliver integrated real estate solutions to investors, developers, occupiers and financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership & Growth

  • Support the development and execution of the Building Consultancy business strategy in alignment with JLL's growth objectives.
  • Drive the expansion of consultancy services across Technical Due Diligence, Project Monitoring, Technical Feasibility Studies, Building Assessments and Technical Advisory mandates.
  • Collaborate with other JLL business lines to create integrated client solutions and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Contribute to revenue growth, profitability targets and business planning activities.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, pitches, fee structures and strategic client presentations.

 

 

Technical Leadership

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of complex Building Consultancy assignments.
  • Act as a senior advisor on Technical Due Diligence, Project Monitoring, Technical Feasibility and Building Assessments.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance across all deliverables.
  • Advise clients on building risk, asset performance, maintenance strategies, lifecycle costs and technical compliance matters.
  • Support ESG and sustainability related assessments in collaboration with specialist teams.
  • Apply strong technical knowledge of building systems, with particular emphasis on MEP infrastructure, mechanical systems and building performance.
  • Ensure all assignments are delivered in accordance with JLL standards, industry best practices and client expectations.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Assist in developing a growing team.

  • Promote continuous technical development and knowledge sharing within the team.

Project & Client Management

  • Manage key client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead client meetings, technical workshops and executive presentations.
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects regarding scope, quality, programme and financial performance.
  • Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies where required.
  • Maintain high levels of client satisfaction and identify opportunities for repeat business.

Required Experience

  • Significant experience within Building Consultancy, Technical Advisory, Engineering Consultancy, Project Management Consultancy or related sectors.
  • Strong track record delivering Technical Due Diligence, Project Monitoring and Technical Feasibility assignments.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and developing professionals.
  • Experience working with investors, developers, occupiers, lenders and institutional clients.
  • Excellent understanding of building systems, construction methodologies and asset lifecycle management.
  • Strong exposure to MEP systems would be highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Mechanical Engineering background with strong MEP expertise will be highly valued.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Fluent English and Portuguese, both written and spoken.
