Overview
We are currently seeking an Intern to join the Adult and Children’s Library Marketing Team this spring. The team works directly with Sales, Publicity, and Trade Marketing for all imprints across HarperCollins US. This is a unique opportunity to learn about sales and marketing and how publishers collaborate with and sell to the library market. This opportunity will also give the candidate a lens into both the adult and the children’s book market. The role is a good fit for someone who is creative, social media-savvy, and detail-oriented.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Create presentation decks for both in and out-of-house meetings.
- Assist in coordinating events and marketing promotions for national library conferences.
- Assist in developing and creating social media content, advise team on trends, and communicate performance to team.
- Light design work: familiarity with Canva or other design tools a plus
- Maintaining databases including reviews, awards, and promotional materials.
- Provides general team support, including content planning and organization, website collection updates, and more.
- Attend seasonal and recurring meetings with the team.
- Microsoft Office knowledge preferred.
Qualifications
- Candidates who are available to work in a full-time capacity in 2027 or 2028 are eligible for this internship; open to rising seniors, recent graduates, master’s students, or entry level candidates with up to 1 year of work experience.
- Candidates must be available to work 21 hours per week across 3 or 4 days, from February 8 to April 16, 2027, at the location specified in the job description. This internship is compensated at a rate of $18 per hour.

- Ideal candidates are either currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program.

- Exceptional written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Excellent organizational, attention to detail, and time-management skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude, excitement to learn, and an enthusiastic, creative self-starter.
- Passion for books, publishing, social media, and marketing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and Threads.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and social media content creation tools including TikTok, CapCut, and Canva.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Sprout a plus.
