The Regional Director, Hospital Engagement serves as a Director-level Hospital Engagement Coordinator and field-level operational manager within an assigned Region of LiveOnNY's Donation Service Area (DSA). The Regional Director is responsible for personally performing Hospital Engagement Coordinator responsibilities while exercising delegated field-level operational management responsibilities in support of Hospital Engagement operations throughout the assigned region.
The Regional Director performs Hospital Engagement responsibilities as an essential function of the position. Management responsibilities are exercised concurrently with operational responsibilities and do not replace the Regional Director's responsibility to maintain an active field presence, respond to donor hospitals, support donation activity, resolve operational barriers, strengthen hospital relationships, facilitate operational coordination, and perform Hospital Engagement responsibilities.
This is a field-based role. Each Regional Director is assigned primary operational responsibility for an identified region within the DSA. Regional assignment does not limit the Regional Director's responsibility or obligation to perform Hospital Engagement responsibilities elsewhere within the DSA as directed solely by LiveOnNY.
The Regional Director may be assigned, deployed, reassigned, or temporarily detailed to any donor hospital, healthcare facility, organizational location, or other operational site within or outside the assigned region as determined by LiveOnNY to meet operational, regulatory, staffing, business continuity, emergency response, quality, educational, leadership, or other organizational needs.
The Regional Director works collaboratively, within the delegated operational framework established by Hospital Engagement Leadership, Executive Leadership, organizational policies, Executive Directives, and other organizational requirements, with all organizational departments involved in the donation process, including, but not limited to, Case Development, Family Engagement, Donor Center Operations, Allocation and Placement, Recovery, Tissue Bank, Education and Training, Operational Intelligence, Quality, Compliance, Information Technology, Legal, Human Resources, Finance, and Communications.
The Regional Director and Hospital Engagement Leadership shall coordinate and collaborate with donor hospital medical and administrative personnel and LiveOnNY departments and personnel to deliver donor hospital-based services in accordance with this Job Description, organizational policies, Executive Directives, other organizational requirements, and in furtherance of LiveOnNY's mission.
The Regional Director shall know, understand, maintain, and comply with applicable federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and LiveOnNY organizational requirements, including, but not limited to:
- Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Conditions for Coverage, Conditions of Participation, interpretive guidance, and applicable reimbursement requirements.
- New York State Public Health Law.
- New York State Anatomical Gift Act.
- Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) Policies.
- United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, as applicable.
- Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) requirements.
- LiveOnNY organizational policies.
- Standard Operating Procedures.
- Work Instructions.
- Executive Directives.
- Operational Learning Pushes (OLPs); and
- All other organizational requirements applicable to the position.
