The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for leading and overseeing all housekeeping operations for two neighboring Buckhead hotels: the 123-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atlanta Buckhead and the 83-room TownePlace Suites Atlanta Buckhead.
This position provides hands-on leadership for the housekeeping teams across both properties and is accountable for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction, productivity, and brand compliance. The Executive Housekeeper will effectively balance the operational needs of two hotels while ensuring appropriate staffing, efficient labor utilization, consistent training, and strong quality control across all 206 guestrooms and associated public and back-of-house areas.
The ideal candidate is an experienced housekeeping leader who is highly organized, visible in the operation, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and capable of building and maintaining strong housekeeping teams across two distinct hotel brands.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of hotel housekeeping experience, including supervisory or management experience.
- Proven experience as a Housekeeping Manager, Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Executive Housekeeper, or similar hotel housekeeping leadership role.
- Multi-property, complex, or high-room-count hotel experience strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, coach, and develop housekeeping teams.
- Thorough knowledge of hotel housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, safety practices, and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to effectively oversee two hotel operations and manage competing priorities.
- Experience with housekeeping scheduling, labor management, productivity standards, inventory control, and supply ordering.
- Ability to inspect guestrooms and public areas with strong attention to detail and consistently enforce quality standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with hotel leadership, Front Office, Maintenance, and other departments.
- Familiarity with hotel property management, housekeeping management, scheduling, or labor-management systems is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Complex / Multi-Property Leadership
- Provide overall leadership and direction for housekeeping operations across both hotels and all 206 guestrooms.
- Maintain a regular, visible presence at both properties and allocate time based on occupancy, staffing levels, operational demands, inspections, and guest needs.
- Ensure consistent housekeeping standards, processes, accountability, and leadership across both hotel teams while adhering to each property's individual brand requirements.
- Work closely with the hotel leadership to identify operational priorities and proactively address housekeeping needs.
- Assist with staffing challenges across the complex and appropriately deploy resources between properties when operationally necessary.
Team Leadership & Staffing
- Lead and supervise housekeeping team members, including supervisors, room attendants, housepersons, laundry attendants, and other housekeeping personnel.
- Prepare and manage department schedules based on occupancy forecasts, arrivals/departures, business levels, and operational needs.
- Assign daily workloads and ensure rooms and assigned areas are completed efficiently and according to established standards.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, productivity, and overall employee performance.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, coaching, counseling, and performance management of housekeeping employees.
- Foster a positive, professional, and accountable work environment focused on teamwork and guest service.
Housekeeping Operations
- Direct daily housekeeping operations for guestrooms, public areas, laundry operations, storage areas, housekeeping closets, and applicable back-of-house spaces.
- Review daily occupancy, departures, stayovers, special requests, and room priorities to appropriately plan staffing and workload.
- Coordinate closely with Front Office and Maintenance to ensure rooms are cleaned, inspected, maintained, and released for guest occupancy in a timely manner.
- Monitor room attendant productivity and department labor to ensure staffing is aligned with business levels and established productivity expectations.
- Respond quickly to operational challenges, call-outs, high occupancy periods, room discrepancies, and other issues that could impact room readiness or guest satisfaction.
Quality Assurance & Brand Standards
- Conduct regular inspections of guestrooms, public areas, laundry areas, housekeeping storage areas, and back-of-house spaces at both properties.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, sanitation, and overall condition.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IHG and Marriott brand standards and property-specific housekeeping requirements.
- Identify deficiencies and implement corrective action promptly.
- Prepare housekeeping operations for brand inspections, quality assurance reviews, ownership visits, and other property evaluations.
- Partner with Maintenance to identify and report room deficiencies, preventative maintenance needs, and out-of-order issues.
Labor, Inventory & Cost Control
- Manage housekeeping labor efficiently while maintaining cleanliness and guest service standards.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of guest supplies, linens, cleaning products, chemicals, uniforms, and housekeeping equipment.
- Conduct regular inventories and assist with ordering and departmental cost controls.
- Protect hotel assets by maintaining appropriate procedures for linen, supplies, equipment, keys, and lost-and-found items.
Training & Development
- Train new housekeeping employees on cleaning procedures, room standards, safety requirements, chemical handling, equipment use, and guest service expectations.
- Provide ongoing coaching and retraining to maintain consistency and improve productivity and quality.
- Develop housekeeping supervisors and other team members to strengthen department leadership and operational coverage.
- Conduct regular departmental meetings and communicate operational priorities, brand expectations, safety information, and performance goals.
Guest Satisfaction
- Respond promptly and professionally to housekeeping-related guest requests, concerns, and complaints.
- Investigate cleanliness concerns and take immediate corrective action when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with hotel departments to resolve guest issues and prevent recurrence.
- Promote a culture in which cleanliness, attention to detail, and guest satisfaction are the responsibility of the entire housekeeping team.
Work Schedule
This is a hands-on hotel operations position requiring flexibility based on the needs of both properties. The Executive Housekeeper must be available to work varying schedules, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout guestrooms, corridors, stairways, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements as required in a hotel housekeeping environment.
- Ability to exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or 40 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to inspect guestrooms and assist with housekeeping operations when necessary.
