Sr. DevOps & Infrastructure Consultant (remote - Mexico)

Engagement Overview 

Inflect is engaging an independent Sr. DevOps & Infrastructure Consultant (Prestador de Servicios Independiente) in Mexico through Rippling (acting as a Contractor of Record) to architect, deliver, and maintain critical cloud platform components. This is an autonomous, high-impact B2B consulting engagement focused on production reliability, platform substrate engineering, and observability pipelines. 

Working as an external subject matter expert, your company will provide high-level technical guidance and infrastructure delivery for Inflect's AWS EKS environment, ensuring our platform runs with high availability, efficiency, and automated resilience.

Specialized Technical Capabilities Required

• Infrastructure & Platform Substrate: Deep expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) operating on AWS EKS, RDS, ingress controllers, TLS certificate automation, in addition to implementing cloud cost/capacity tuning.
• Production Reliability & SRE Rigor: Proven track record defining SLOs/SLIs, establishing error budget frameworks, and building automation to drive down system toil.
• Telemetry Architecture: Hands-on experience designing and operating OpenTelemetry collection and routing pipelines.
• Async Communication & Advisory: Fluent professional English communication skills for effective cross-border async collaboration and code review advisory.

Scope of Services & Deliverables

• Platform Substrate & Infrastructure: Deliver and maintain Terraform modules on AWS EKS, managed RDS instances, ingress controllers, and cost optimization architectures.
• SRE & Reliability Standards: Establish SLO/SLI tracking frameworks, automate error budget monitoring, participate in post-incident technical reviews, and build automated tooling to reduce operational friction.
• Telemetry Pipeline Architecture: Architect and maintain the OpenTelemetry capture pipeline feeding telemetry data to downstream Data Foundation and Trust & Intelligence pods.
• Technical Advisory & Review: Provide specialized code reviews, pull-request assessments, and technical architecture recommendations to maintain high platform standards.
• Paved Road Enablement: Develop reusable platform patterns and automated CI/CD tooling to streamline developer deployment workflows. Define Operating model and reflect via Global Runbook inclusive of SOP’s, regional coordination, and issue remediation/management.

Engagement Terms & Compliance Structure

• Location: Mexico
• Contract Type: Fixed-rate monthly Independent B2B Service Agreement executed via Rippling, $6,000-$8,000 USD/mo based on experience
• Invoicing & Tax Compliance: Contractor must be registered with the SAT (e.g., RESICO or Persona Física con Actividad Empresarial) and issue valid CFDI invoices uploaded through Rippling.
• Autonomy: Complete flexibility over work schedules, location, and execution methods necessary to fulfill project SLAs and agreed milestones.
• Commercial Relationship: Strictly B2B consulting engagement; no employment relationship under the Federal Labor Law (LFT), Aguinaldo (Christmas bonus), profit sharing (PTU), or employee benefit guarantees are implied.
