About the Internship
The Operations Rotational Summer Internship is designed to provide college students with broad exposure to GreatAmerica’s operational career paths through hands-on experience across key functions that support the customer and transaction lifecycle. Interns will rotate through Portfolio Management, Account Support, Sales Support, and Documentation to gain a practical understanding of how these teams work together to serve customers, support transactions, and drive operational excellence.
This internship is ideal for students who are curious, relationship-oriented, adaptable, and interested in learning how different operational teams contribute to a strong customer experience and efficient business processes.
What You’ll Do
As an Operations Rotational Summer Intern, you will participate in a structured summer experience that includes onboarding, training, job shadowing, functional rotations, meaningful daily work, team meetings, and mini-projects.
You will gain exposure to:
Portfolio Management: Learn about portfolio monitoring, risk concepts, and business analysis.
Account Support: Support customer service activities and gain exposure to relationship management
Sales Support: Learn how teams support customer communication, transaction support, and program execution.
Documentation: Gain exposure to contract accuracy, compliance, and funding preparation.
Throughout the internship, you will have opportunities to:
Build an understanding of the end-to-end customer and transaction lifecycle.
Shadow team members and leaders across multiple Operations functions.
Contribute to meaningful projects and daily work that support business needs.
Strengthen communication skills through frequent transitions, stakeholder interactions, and cross-functional collaboration.
Develop enterprise thinking by seeing how operational teams connect rather than working in functional silos. Participate in a capstone project focused on improving the customer experience and operational efficiency across the transaction lifecycle.
Capstone Experience
Using what you learn throughout the rotations, you will work with fellow interns to explore the question: “How can we improve the customer experience and operational efficiency across the transaction lifecycle?” As part of this project, interns will interview stakeholders, analyze processes, identify opportunities, and present recommendations to Operations Leadership.
What You’ll Gain
This internship is designed to help you build skills aligned with GreatAmerica values, including customer orientation, accountability, communication, future readiness, teamwork, and adaptability.
Interns will leave the program with:
A broader understanding of operational career paths within GreatAmerica.
Exposure to multiple teams that influence customer outcomes.
Experience working on real projects with measurable business impact
Stronger cross-functional relationships and communication skills.
Practical insight into how customer experience, operational efficiency, compliance, and transaction support connect across the business.
